Our easy chicken and rice casserole is full of creamy sauce and delicious ingredients. This one-pan meal is perfect for easy dinners that the whole family will love.

How To Make Creamy Chicken And Rice Bake

This is one of those dump and go types of casseroles. Three cans of soup, one can of water, rice, and chicken. Its an extra creamy, almost risotto-type texture.

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.

Mix the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, and water, then mix in the uncooked rice and celery. You can do the mixing in a bowl, or like me, just do it in the 9×13 baking dish.

Place the chicken on top of the rice mixture, and season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place the butter on top of the chicken and bake for 2 hours or until the rice is tender. If you choose to cover with foil, remove it 30 minutes before the baking time is done.

You can use any boneless, skinless chicken pieces you like. Also, you can use more or less. It depends on how many you feed and how much chicken you need.

This feeds 3 of us with leftovers for lunch the next day. The butter adds flavor but also helps the chicken to brown a little.

I take the chicken out and shred or chop it up. Its your preference.

This dish can easily be doubled for a crowd too.

Mix in the chicken or just serve alongside. Enjoy this easy dinner with a side salad, and call it done!

I use boneless skinless chicken breasts or I have even used chicken tenders before, and they work real well. If the chicken breasts are very big, I cut them in half and this helps the chicken to cook through more easily.

CHICKEN BREAST: I make this great recipe with a rotisserie chicken or other leftover chicken, but you could also use homemade chicken breasts, chopped or shredded, or even ground chicken.

CREAM SOUP: If you dont like cream of mushroom soup, you can substitute for any other cream soup such as cream of celery soup or another one that you do like.

SOUR CREAM: You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream if youd like. If you wanted to leave out the sour cream entirely, you could, but we would suggest increasing the quantity of cream soup in this case.

SEASONING: You could add a dash of paprika for more flavor if youd like.

VEGGIES: You could add your favorite veggies like carrots, broccoli, peas, celery, green beans, or mushrooms to this dish.

CHEESE: Add your favorite cheese! Cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese are two great options.

TOPPING: You could always add a few breadcrumbs on top for some extra crunch.

    Easy chicken and rice is such an easy meal to put together. I use to make it all the time. In fact, I made it so much that it has been a few years since I have made it. It is so nice to put it together and then place it into the oven and forget about it for a few hours, and then you can put it right onto the table.

    I would make this when I came home from work and I couldnt think of anything else to make. It doesnt take a lot of thinking to make this and almost anyone can make it. I like to add a vegetable with it and some fruit and that is all you really need.
