Though you dont need a big soup pot for this recipe as a regular pot will do, I do use this one for large recipes.

What is the average weight of a meal?
We use an average of 4 oz per meal. We calculated it using an average dog at 40 pounds eating approximately 5oz a meal and a 10-pound cat eating approximately 1.5 oz a meal.

Since we began our FABFAS program in the fall of 2016, we have donated over 2 million meals.

We have donated in the past through our distributors and hope to expand the program there in the near future.
How are the rescue organizations chosen?
We focus on supporting disaster relief efforts and providing food to shelters in communities across the country. We work with American Humane when a disaster happens to get food to those who need it most as quickly as possible. We also work with our independent retailers to identify local shelters in their area that are more likely to be less noticed by larger pet food brands looking to donate.

Ok…it is time for chicken noodle soup to move on over because Vegan Chicken Couscous Soup is in town and it is out of this world!
I made this soup with cold season in mind. AND low and behold, I ended up getting sick last week. Lucky for me, I had some of this stashed away in my freezer. And boy, was I happy I did.
This soup is like chicken noodle soup’s older, more sophisticated brother. The broth has more depth and egg noodles are swapped out for pearl couscous. Oh…and, of course, the chicken is vegan. Healthier on so many levels.
First let’s talk about this broth. I had to use my stand by vegan chicken bouillon . But, other than the bouillon, this broth is also packed full of tons of anti-inflammatory goodies – turmeric, ginger and garlic. All of these things will help you kick your cold’s butt. And even if you’re not sick, they just make this soup taste extra fancy and delicious.
As for the veggies, we are using the traditional soup ones. Carrots, onions and celery. Why fix something that isn’t broke, right?
Now instead of traditional noodles, we are using pearl couscous. I know, fancy times are upon us. If you’ve never tried pearl couscous, you will love it. It’s like little pasta balls in your soup.
Lastly is the vegan chicken. This is totally optional, but it makes this soup extra hearty and filling. You can use any non-breaded vegan chicken strips. I popped mine in the soup frozen, but if you are in a rush, you can thaw them first.

Other than coconut milk which seems to be in every Thai chicken soup, it appears the rest is up to you. As long as youve met the Thai prerequisite flavors of salty, spicy, sweet and sour, your Thai soup will shine! I love incorporating peanut butter, pineapple juice and fish sauce into this soup to create a luscious, complex flavor.
Ingredients such as coconut and pineapple make up the sweet part of a Thai dish. Salty is left to the fish sauce. Spicy is derived from chiles or Sriracha and sour in this case comes from the lime juice. Yes, these are four major components of Thai cooking.
If youve never tried a Thai recipe, this is a great one to start with. Easy and sophisticated at the same time, this soup will have you wishing you made more. Just make sure if you add noodles that you cook them separately or they will soak up a lot of the soup. And if you have leftovers make sure you keep the noodles in a separate container. If left in the soup, they will become soggy.
Another favorite Thai soup of mine isTom Kha soup. It is made with coconut milk also, but with shrimp added its a bit lighter than this one. You should try this one also!
