Dont Buy The Wine Bring Your Own Bottle Instead

Another secret hack for saving money at Olive Garden includes saving on wine.

Many Olive Garden locations allow you to bring in your own bottle of wine to enjoy with your Chicken Parm.

They charge whats called a corkage fee, which can range from free to $7 depending on location. This can save you a ton of money on your glass of wine. For example:

One bottle of Columbia Crest Merlot

  • At Olive Garden: $33, $8.50 per glass
  • Average price: $10.99, $2.75 per glass

Even if the corkage fee is as high as $7 , youre still saving $15 per bottle on this wine.

Be sure to call your local Olive Garden to check on this before you show up with your wine. Unfortunately, some restaurants wont allow it.

Is The Never Ending Pasta Bowl Really A Good Deal

The Never Ending Pasta Bowl Pass sells for $100 and is only good for the nine-week period that the Olive Garden schedules, usually August through November, but you can go as often as you like during those nine weeks. At first, it seems like a good deal. But lets add up all the costs. The Never Ending Pasta Bowl goes for $10.99, and it includes unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks. You can order as many dishes as you like, but anything else including drinks is extra. According to The Simple Dollar, a bottomless soft drink is $2.99, and juice, coffee, and tea range between $2 and $5, as listed on Olive Gardens menu. When you throw in tax and tip, thats an extra $6 or $7 added to your bill. So for the Never Ending Pasta Bowl to be worth it, youd have to go 18 times in nine weeks just to break even.

Still, it averages out to about two bucks per meal, and the more often you dine at Olive Garden, the more savings you accrue. As reported by Business Insider, one particularly determined pasta fanatic in Florida ate 140 pasta meals in 56 days. Some people would say thats the most obnoxious thing on earth, he said. I would agree. Im as far away from normal as you can go. Perhaps. But this obsessed Floridian calculated that he saved over $2,000 during the pasta promotion.

The Andes Mints Are Made Special:

Over 100 Combinations to Crave.

When the meal is over, Olive Garden customers are gifted with a final surprise of Andes chocolate candies, which are kept chilled in a refrigerator for a refreshing after-dinner treat.

But a closer look reveals that the restaurants candies arent the Andes mints you could buy at the store.

Normally, Andes sells its Crème de Menthe variety in stores, which sandwiches a layer of mint between two layers of chocolate. At Olive Garden, the chocolate candy features only two layers: one chocolate and one mint.

They are custom-made for us, featuring a different shape and wrapper, a restaurant representative told The Daily Meal. The recipe is the same.

One of Olive Gardens most well-known promotions may never be returning. According to recent reports, the Never-Ending Pasta Bowl could be off the menu for good.

The new CEO of Olive Gardens parent company recently discussed the annual promotion while delivering the chains quarterly results, Restaurant Business Online reports. Same store sales actually rose compared to the same time period from two years ago, despite various factors working against Olive Garden this year.

Aside from not bringing the Never-Ending Pasta Bowl promotion back, the restaurant chain is still struggling with the pandemic, as well as the labor shortage.

Darden Restaurants CEO Rick Cardenas spoke on Friday and explained that the popular promotion may not have helped sales as it was once believed.

“We know was a negative impact over the years,” Cardenas explained, “but the profitability wasn’t as high as the guests that we’re doing today. And so we decided to reduce the dependency on Never-Ending Pasta Bowl this year because we didn’t need to drive volume into our restaurants.”

He continued, “As we look forward, we don’t know if we’ll bring and when we’ll bring Never-Ending Pasta Bowl back because we have a never-ending abundance every day with our never-ending first course.”

On Monday, the casual dining chain will debut a new promotion called “Never Ending Classics.” The deal will last through March 3.

With prices starting at $11.99, customers can order endless plates of spaghetti with meat sauce, fettucine alfredo, lasagna classico, chicken alfredo, or chicken parmigiana. The meal will also include unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks.

Olive Garden has offered the Never Ending Pasta Bowl as a limited-time offering seasonally for more than 20 years. The difference between Never Ending Classics and Never Ending Pasta is that the former includes dishes like chicken parmigiana and the option to choose a different dish with each refill.

The chain offers unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks all year round.

Olive Garen’s Pasta Pass, which costs $100, offers customers unlimited pasta, sauces and other toppings, soup or salad, breadsticks, and soft drinks for seven weeks. In September, the third year the chain offered the promotion, 21,000 passes were sold.

First we introduced unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. Then we debuted Never Ending Pasta Bowl. And now were excited to give our fans the chance to revel in unlimited helpings of their favorite Olive Garden classics,” Jose Duenas, Olive Garden’s executive vice president of marketing, said in a statement.
