How To Veganize Zuppa Toscana

In place of the dairy youd find in most copycat Zuppa Toscana recipes, Ive used coconut milk. Coconut milk, just like heavy cream is super fatty, so it gives you a richer and creamier soup than youd get with other types of non-dairy milk.

I did include vegan sausage when I made this at home, but if youre not into that kind of thing you can totally leave it out! I used Field roast Italian sausage links, and they worked great. You could also skip the sausage and include some vegan bacon, like coconut bacon or the tempeh bacon from this vegan bean with bacon soup.

We have always had a good experience and on several occasions a manager has checked on us without our prompting to make sure she is well cared for. Can You Use Frozen Spinach In Copycat Olive Garden Chicken Gnocchi Soup

No, we dont recommend it. The one substitution youll want to stay away from is using frozen spinach in lieu of fresh spinach. Frozen spinach is great for many uses, but the texture will be a bit mushy for this soup. The fresh spinach thrown in at the end will wilt immediately but stay quite fresh and light since its not overcooked.

Which Soup Is The Best Soup At The Olive Garden

Week 3 4 Weeks to Vegan

The folks at Chowhound ranked the Olive Garden Soups. I think it depends on what type of soup you personally enjoy the most. If you like a soup with a beef base, I would have to recommend the Pasta E Fagioli as it is a hearty soup that is packed full of beans, beef, and so much more, all in every single bite.

If you want a soup that is light, the Minestrone this is the soup that I would choose.

The real difficult choice comes between the Chicken & Gnocchi soup and the Zuppa Toscana. Both are cream-based soups. The Chicken & Gnocchi is a creamy based soup filled with chicken and soft tender gnocchi.

While the Zuppa Toscana has Italian sausage, potatoes, and fresh potatoes. I would love to easily tell you which soup is best, but the choice is oh so difficult to make.

How To Make Olive Garden Meals More Keto

With its pasta- and bread-heavy menu, Olive Garden may seem difficult for keto dieters at first glance. However, its easy to modify the menu to drastically reduce your meals carb count.

In addition to the options above, here are three ways you can make your Olive Garden meal keto-friendly:

  • Turn your salad into an entree. Ask for a side of grilled chicken or steak, which you can then slice and add to your salad to turn it into a complete meal.
  • Add extra protein to your soup. While all of Olive Gardens soups offer 13 grams of net carbs per serving, they dont have much protein or fat. Ask for a side of grilled chicken or steak to make your soup a more complete, filling meal with no extra carbs.
  • Ask for broccoli instead of pasta. I do this regularly at Italian restaurants. Find the pasta dish that sounds most appealing, and then simply ask for broccoli instead of pasta. Most restaurant staff are happy to oblige, although you may have a slight surcharge.

Breadsticks

If you have been vegan for any length of time, you would know how despairingly difficult it can be to find breadsticks that do not contain milk or arent coated in butter. But Olive Garden does it and how .

Not only can you find vegan breadsticks at Olive Garden, but they are also supremely delicious. Moreover, you do not have to hold the garlic topping because thats vegan too. Isnt it amazing? While they taste great on their own, you can also get a vegan dipping sauce on the side for an extra burst of flavor.

I wouldnt mind going to Olive Garden just for their vegan breadsticks. But, they have more plant-based food options.

House Salad

How can we talk about vegan food options at an American restaurant and not have House Salad on the list? House Salad, an old fellow of vegans, has been saving plant-eaters from starving at restaurants since forever. And it still does the job at quite a few places.

Appearing with the name of Famous House Salad on Olive Gardens menu, the salad comes standard with Italian dressing and croutons, both of which are non-vegan. Skip the croutons and get the dressing replaced with Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar to enjoy a vegan salad at Olive Garden.

While Olive Gardens vegan menu doesnt mention it, online sources stated that the salad also contains parmesan cheese. To be on the safe side, confirm it with your server at the time of ordering. Needless to say that if it does contain parmesan, youll have to skip that too.

Can You Freeze Zuppa Toscana

Yes, you can freeze this soup if you have any leftovers, but I would eat it within two to three weeks. The kale will be browning and the potatoes might be a little off-color, but it will taste just fine. I wouldnt leave it in the freezer for too long though, because when it warms up, the potatoes will be mushy and I just feel like this soup is meant to be enjoyed pretty close to the time you made it.

What Kind Of Chicken Do I Use For Olive Garden Gnocchi Soup

Instant Pot Zuppa Toscana Soup

When it comes to cooked chicken in recipes, everyone seems to have their favorite method. For most of my casserole and soup recipes I roast mine in the oven and then shred. I will also boil it with carrot, celery and onion so I make a homemade stock at the same time. Roasting a chicken for Sunday supper and using the leftovers later in the week is a great way to get double duty out of one bird. Save some time and use a prepared rotisserie chicken from the grocery store deli. For this recipe, I decided to save time and money and use canned all white meat chicken. For some recipes this convenience product would not be my choice, but I have found for soups it works really well, and is a major bargain considering the cost of fresh chicken lately. I simply place the chicken in a colander, break the large pieces up with a fork and allow it to drain well. To make sure I still had lots of flavor, I used a homemade chicken stock from the freezer instead of store bought broth.
