On Monday, November 22nd and Wednesday, November 24th this organization will be distributing Thanksgiving Food Boxes to home-bound seniors and disabled individuals. Lois serves as the Acting Executive Director of PATH Ventures, which builds and operates high-quality, affordable rental homes. Previously, Lois was a housing development consultant for for-profit housing development entities, non-profit housing and service agencies, and local governments.
Lois spent the previous 15 years at the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles overseeing the Housing Development and Preservation Department. A native of Los Angeles, Lois completed her undergraduate work at Cal. State Northridge and graduate work at Pepperdine.

Director Of Family Services
Tiffany joined the PATH Families team in 2019. She has a decade of experience serving in the nonprofit sector working with and advocating for marginalized populations, including families experiencing homelessness, foster youth, homeless teens, youth involved in the juvenile justice system and those identifying as LGBTQ+. Prior to joining PATH, Tiffany served as the Program Director for both Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco and the Coalition for Engaged Education in Los Angeles, California.
A native of North Carolina, Tiffany served as a print news journalist and copy editor before moving overseas to South Korea where she developed curriculum and taught elementary school, while traveling to various countries throughout Asia drafting freelance education articles. With a passion for youth advocacy and commitment to social responsibility, Tiffany has also facilitated a variety of staff, student and leadership trainings in restorative justice, trauma-informed care, de-escalation and crisis management.
Tiffany earned a bachelors degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations and journalism from East Carolina University, and she obtained her masters degree from the University of Southern Californias Rossier School of Education.

Each Thanksgiving, the Los Angeles Mission serves over 3,000 pounds of turkey, 700 pounds of mashed potatoes, 800 pounds of green beans and 600 pies to our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Families can find a number of ways to volunteer and help out by donating time, goods, and funds. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age. Because of the effects of COVID-19, the Los Angeles Mission needs our help even more. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting every aspect of SFCs daily operations, from working directly with homeless and extremely low-income program guests, to helping organize donations of food and clothing, and even providing administrative assistance.
Volunteering At A Soup Kitchen With Your Child
Volunteering is a great way to do something as a family that will benefit others, including other families. This winter, consider volunteering for a soup kitchen or another organization that helps those who are less fortunate. Its a great way to spend time together while helping those in need.
Find a way to help together Talk to your children about ways you could volunteer. Many people who are homeless or struggling to make ends meet in our country rely heavily on food pantries or soup kitchens. The demand tends to increase during the winter seasonmaking it a good time to volunteer together.
Search for a soup kitchen that welcomes young volunteers Look online to find local soup kitchens and shelters and call in advance to find out if your children can volunteer with you. Or, try a search engine for volunteer opportunities, such as www.volunteermatch.org. Once you find a food pantry, your older kids may be able to serve food. Younger children can hand out plates, napkins, and silverware. Remind your kids to be friendly and welcoming to everyone they serve.
Keep volunteering throughout the year While need is greater in the winter months, soup kitchens and food pantries need volunteers year-round. If your family found volunteering rewarding during the winter months, consider volunteering over the summer, too. Many children depend on school lunches during the school year, and over the summer, survival centers need volunteers to distribute lunch foods to kids.

Director Of Permanent Supportive Housing
Jennifer joined the PATH in June 2016, and currently serves as Director of Permanent Supportive Housing. She started her career as a Political Coordinator for a local labor organization, obtained her clinical skills as a case manager with multiple housing programs, including the VASH program at the Department of Veteran Affairs, and has spent time as a part-time lecturer in the Social Work School at the University of Southern California. She was most recently the Director of Housing Partnership Programs, and has come full circle in her housing work. She is dedicated to making sure people are supported in their housing, fostering collaborations, to make sure beneficial partnerships for all community partners working together.
Jennifer, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the state of California, holds a bachelors degree in psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and a masters degree in social work from the University of Southern California. In her spare time, she is active with her local neighborhood council, and is most happy under the water, as she is an advanced PADI SCUBA diver.

The Peoples Bodega: It doesnt get any more DIY than the Peoples Bodega, a loosely affiliated collection of sidewalk food stands available for anyone who happens to come by. Initially started in New York City and expanded across the United States, the LA version of these stands can be found in places like an empty storefront doorway on La Brea to Highland Park, Exposition Park, and beyond.

Senior Director Of Facilities And Operations
Brian joined PATH in January 2021 as the Senior Director of Facilities and Operations, with over 10 years of experience overseeing policies and procedures for facilities, procurement security, and fleet management.
While Brian has tenure in upscale hospitality and has worked at companies such as Google and YouTube, he found himself gravitating toward the nonprofit realm and hasnt looked back since from career development and rehabilitation for former inmates, to enhancing the environments of youth with developmental delays and disabilities. He looks forward to continuing a meaningful career at PATH.
In his spare time, Brian enjoys going on hikes with his growing family and three dogs, adding accessories to his classic Volkswagens, and traveling abroad.
Thanksgiving Volunteer Opportunities In Orange County
Gobble Gobble Give, Santa Ana IN PERSON
Gobble Gobble Give delivers food, clothing and toiletries to the homeless in eighteen cities across the country on Thanksgiving morning. Weve been doing it for 22 years, feeding more people in more cities every year.
On Nov. 25, help deliver over 30,000 meals to residents in need and across the country. The Santa Ana event takes place at MoonGoat Coffee, 1985 Placentia Ave. in Costa Mesa beginning at 8:00 am 12:00 pm.
Operation Warm Wishes, Tustin IN PERSON
With Thanksgiving right around the corner, preparations are in place for Operation Warm Wishes 14th Annual Unity in the Community Thanksgiving Spectacular. The free yearly event which runs from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at Peppertree Park at 230 West First St. in Tustin is expected to draw participants and volunteers from across Southern California.
The event features a free 3-course Thanksgiving dinner, with all the trimmings, for all members of the community. Once again, Operation Warm Wishes is taking the event to the next level.
Attendees will be able to enjoy an unlimited desserts & beverages, a spectacular kids craft area, live music, and a wide array of amenities including haircuts, clothing, food bags, doggy grooming, and much more!

Lilian joined the PATH Ventures team in November 2020. Lilian is responsible for providing financial leadership in real estate development and managing all financial activities of the organization. She has more than 20 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, financial management, and real estate for non-profit organizations. She holds an Master of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Rafael Landivar, Guatemala and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Working in the non-profit sector is the fuel of her passion and brings meaning to her career.

Housing Director Southern California Path Ventures
AJ Azara joined PATH Ventures in January 2019 and is currently the Housing Director for Southern California. Prior to joining PATH Ventures, AJ held various development management roles at market-rate hotel and multifamily development companies. At PATH Ventures, he oversees all aspects of the development process for our Southern California pipeline of projects including acquisition, pre-development, construction, and financing. He holds a bachelors degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine and is also a licensed real estate broker and general contractor in the State of California.
Food Bank & Soup Kitchen
The Holy Cross Parish Food Bank and Soup Kitchen has been serving those in need in the St. Boniface and surrounding area for nearly 20 years. The Holy Cross Food Bank was the creation of one of our late parishioners, Mr. Roger St.Hillare. Mr. St.Hillaire felt strongly that there were families in need in our community and that the parishioners of Holy Cross could answer the call with both their time and support financially.
All these years later, the parish and its group of approximately 25 wonderful volunteers, are still going strong, serving between 70 and 85 people every Wednesday morning in the parish basement. Amid the socializing and the laughter, volunteers work hard to help provide this community service. Patrons are treated to a delicious meal prepared by our kitchen staff volunteers, usually consisting of soup and sandwiches, juice, coffee and dessert followed by the opportunity to pack themselves a hamper from the food items donated by Winnipeg Harvest, our parishioners and surrounding community. Our backroom volunteers pack baby hampers with diapers, formula, baby food and other sundry needs ensuring that our youngest patrons are well looked after.
Our patrons come from all walks of life. Some have been using our food bank every other week for years some stop by once in a while when they find themselves unable to make ends meet while others visit only once or twice when transitioning between jobs or if new to Canada. We try not to turn anyone away.

History And Description Of Food Pantry Lax
Food Pantry, LAX was established in 1985 under the auspices of the Westchester/Ladera Clergy Association as a community based means of feeding the poor in our community. Our mission is to provide food in the form of groceries to low and no income families and individuals in our service area. We distribute bags of groceries sufficient to provide meals for 1-2 days to the families that come to the Food Pantry each week. We do food distribution twice per week on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10am to noon. Our service area is bounded roughly by the eastern boundary of Inglewood, Jefferson Blvd on the north, Imperial Highway on the south, and the Pacific Ocean.
Food Pantry, LAX is entirely volunteer based – there is no paid staff. There is, however, a lot of community support for the program and we are beneficiaries of food drives and other efforts by the local churches, businesses, and Loyola Marymount University.

Ben Perdue joined PATH in June 2017 as the Associate Director of Veteran Services, and now has direct oversight for PATHs Veteran programs. Ben graduated with his MSW from Cal State Dominguez Hills and has specialized in homeless Veteran programs such as GPD, SSVF and HUD-VASH over the past decade.
Ben proudly served in the US Navy as a Boatswains Mate involved with multiple deployments in the Middle East and Asia. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running and exploring nature with family.

Senior Director Metro Los Angeles
Steve joined PATHs Veteran Services Department in 2013, and in 2015 co-lead PATHs Intensive Case Management Team. Now, as Senior Director of Metro Los Angeles, Steve oversees PATHs outreach, interim housing, and supportive service programs in metropolitan Los Angeles.
Steve has long been an advocate for change and the application of theory into effective practice.Whether working with community and faith-based groups through transformational processes or working to assist people experiencing homelessness struggling with mental illness, his work has focused on helping people thrive. Steve is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who received his MSW from CSU-Dominguez Hills, his BA in Economics from Montclair State University, and Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. If youre looking for him when hes not at work, you might find him jogging somewhere in Hollywood or working in his garden.
Volunteer At A Pantry
Just a few hours of your time can make a huge difference in the lives of the people we serve!
The Food Bank relies on a network of Partner Agencies to distribute food to people experiencing hunger in Los Angeles County. These agencies are soup kitchens, pantries, shelters, community centers, senior centers, churches, schools and other organizations that receive food from the Food Bank and then distribute it in their local communities to those in need.
Agencies are responsible for organizing, staffing, and leading their distributions, and many of them would benefit from the help of volunteers.
Duties
Duties vary by agency, but generally include helping receive, inventory, and stock food products on the days they receive food or pick up food from the Food Bank. On the days they distribute food, volunteers help set up and distribute food directly to clients.
Requirements and Skills
Must be at least 18 and physically be able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 lbs. Volunteers must also be able to stand on their feet for several hours at a time.
