The book is worth a read, so borrow it from your local library. The main gist of the book is that your body requires your palate to be excited so that you dont overeat. Instead of sitting down to one, giant bowl of cheesy pasta each mean should consist of different flavours, different textures and ideally, courses.

How Do You Make Weight Loss Soup
Cook this healthy soup on the stovetop or it would be great made in a slow cooker. I am going to give it a try in the Instant Pot. Cooking it for 8 mins on high pressure.
In a large pot, brown ground turkey or cook chopped chicken. Once the meat protein is cooked, drain the fat if there is any.
Prepare your fresh vegetables by chopping the onion, mincing the garlic, seeding and chopping the bell peppers, and slicing the mushrooms. Add all the fresh vegetables to the browned chicken.
Stir the contents of the pot together and cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the remaining ingredients, except cilantro and parsley. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

Its unclear where and by whom the magical leek soup originated.
However, in the early 2000s, Mireille Guiliano speaks of the diet in her nationwide bestseller book called, French Women Dont Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure.
In her book, Guiliano a slender French girl tells her story of going to American as an exchange student and returning fat.
Dismayed, she visited her family physician, Dr. Miracle, who gave her several recipes, but none were more important than the magical leek soup recipe, she claimed.
Guiliano explained that leeks are a mild diuretic, and drinking the leek soup every 23 hours, one cup at a time, for 48 hours would provide immediate fat loss.

The idea of a magical weekend is that you begin it when you start to feel en peu blobby as my French ex-boss Chantel-from-ze-South-of-France used to say . If you feel like youve gained a few pounds or kilos, give this a go.
Personally, I would make a fresh batch on each weekend day, as I would easily go through this pot of soup in 24 hours or less. Drink the oniony-tasting liquid whenever you feel hungry and when truly ravenous, eat some of the leeks with a dash of the oil. Go sparingly for best results.

Yes, as with all fasts, you are likely to lose weight. I am a very experienced faster, and I learned from the best.
