It’s day 5 on the Cabbage Soup Diet, and I’m feeling pretty good all over. All in all this has been the easiest diet EVER. I’ve lost another half a kilo, and with no significant discomfort, illness or …antisocial digestive consequences. It’s a little harder to give an objective assessment of feeling today, to be fair, because I slept really badly . But I feel good in my body, energetic despite the tiredness and comfortably fed.

Of course it helps that today is a MEAT DAY! Yay! Today I get to eat up to 560g of beef and 8 medium tomatoes as my additional food. I started early with a beefy breakfast of a pasta-less bolognaise so as to incorporate the toms – I browned 200g of good minced beef in a pan, while food-processing 3 of the toms with two cloves of garlic , a few leaves of basil, black pepper and salt. Then I stirred the tomato mixture into the mince while slowly simmering until it was a rich red beefy sauce, and dug in with relish.

Never has meat tasted so good. Just the texture was heavenly, and the beef had depth of flavour and complexity that I’d never tasted before. It speaks for the power of deprivation to sharpen your enjoyment. Honestly I’d do the whole thing again just for that experience.

Is It Good For Certain Conditions

Mostly for those who are obese and need to lose weight fast in order to undergo to surgery. If you have any condition, such as diabetes, consult your doctor before doing the cabbage diet soup. Your blood sugar levels may drop a lot. It also wont have a long-lasting impact on heart-disease, lowering cholesterol, or treating high blood pressure.

Day 5 Wonder Soup Diet

Weighted myself on the scale and still about 5 lbs has shed since Day 1. This is the miracle quick weight loss diet!

Today I’m suppose to eat 6-8 tomatoes only. I’m assuming they meant large hot house tomatoes or at least roma tomatoes. Anyways, I had a bunch of cherry tomatoes instead. Cherry tomatoes makes for a good snacking option that are juicy and not too bland.

Throughout the day, I snacked on tomatoes. But really remember to drink lots of water. It was a bit acidic during the morning hours that my stomach felt a bit queasy.

And lunch I had oven baked chicken thighs loaded with tons of herbs – rosemary, basil, oregano, olive oil and lemon. For dinner, it was a mixture of soup, a romaine salad with roma tomatoes and baked chicken wings. Again, I used the same seasoning since it’s tasty and zero fat.

Today was a good day!

Its Tuesday the day of vegetables and no fruit. After starting the day with some Body Combat on You Tube it is time to tuck into the cabbage soup.

  • 8am 2 ladles of cabbage soup
  • 1pm 3 ladles cabbage soup
  • 6pm 1 ladles cabbage soup

Because we can also have vegetables today, I added them to the soup to make mealtimes less boring.

With lunch I had sweet potato cubes over the soup and then for dinner I had cinnamon flavoured steamed carrots and some orange peppers.

Note, that on day 2 of the cabbage soup diet you are also allowed potatoes. This can be white or sweet, but many suggest having it for breakfast. Instead, I went with adding sweet potato cubes over my soup for lunch.

Instant Pot Cabbage Soup:

  • To make the detox cabbage soup in the pressure cooker, press the saute function.
  • Heat oil and cook onion, bell pepper, and celery for about 5 minutes, or until softened. Stir every now and then. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
