Because I like to try and use what we have in the house, I opened the freezer, the fridge and all the cabinets to take stock of what we had on hand. Sometimes going back out to the grocery store is just not something I want to do.

I grabbed some ground beef from the freezer, cream cheese from the fridge, onions, basil and garlic from the cabinets and got to work.

Beefy Tomato Soup has become one of our most popular recipe on our site and for good reason. Its really easy to make, its done in less than 30 minutes and its so creamy and comforting, everyone gobbles it up.

This soup recipe is another way I like to use spaghetti sauce in recipes as a short cut and a boost of flavor. And probably one of my favorite ways, too. Also a jar of spaghetti sauce is usually something we have in the pantry so its an easy ingredient to use in recipes like this.

This beef and macaroni soup gets so thick its almost like a beef goulash. Some people have said that its similar to a homemade hamburger helper once the noodles soak up all the broth.

Afterwards, take a large bowl and mix onions, garlic, tomatoes, cilantro, salt, pepper, vinegar, olive oil, jalapeño, clam juice, cumin, and honey, add in the shrimp, and refrigerate it for at least two hours. What Quantity Of Tomato Soup Should I Feed My Cat Daily

Easy Three-Ingredient Tomato Soup Recipe – How to Make Homemade Tomato Soup

If your cat is healthy , pregnant or nursing, give her about 1/2 cup of tomato soup every 2 days. If your cat is sick or has health issues, give her about 1/4 cup every 2 days.

For young kittens, feed them about 1 tablespoon of pureed soup per day with their regular food. Puppies are just like kittens in that they have no teeth, so they need to eat food that is soft. If they are old enough to eat dry food , you can mix the dry food with tomato soup.

Otherwise, you can buy canned food for them.

What Will Happen If I Overfeed My Cat Tomato Soup

As noted above, cats cant chew or break down food so they need to eat pureed, soft foods. If youre giving her tomato soup, it should be pureed first before feeding it to her.

Overfeeding your cat can cause health problems, including obesity. Obesity can cause cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Also, kittens who are overfed during their first two years may not grow properly and may become fat as adults.

So how much do you give your cat per day? It depends on his age and weight, but you should feed your cat about ½ cup to 1 cup of juice or soup for every 10 pounds of his body weight.

If youre feeding your cat, remember that she does not have a stomach because she has no esophagus, so be careful how much she eats. Overfeeding her can cause bloat which is basically a very painful condition that can sometimes cause death. If your cat is acting lethargic or appears sick after eating tomato soup, call your vet immediately to have her checked out.

Classic Tomato Soup With Panko Mozzarella Sticks

Lets start with the classic tomato soup. Its saltiness and acidity make it good on its own, but you can also break up the uniformity by pairing it with some mozzarella sticks . That way you can go back and forth between spoonfuls of tomato soup, and bites of oozing, cheesy goodness. Spice it up with red chile flakes if you want a bit more bite.

    Ingredients For Tomato Basil Soup

Since this is a tomato-based soup, it is important to offset the acidity with some key ingredients. We use a combination of cream, parmesan, and a little sugar to balance the soup.

    • Butter use unsalted butter to sautee onions
    • Yellow onion it seems like a ton of onion but it dissapears into the soup adding a balanced sweetness
    • Garlic youll need 1 Tbsp minced from about 3 cloves
    • Crushed tomatoes with their juice, preferably San Marzano tomatoes
    • Chicken stock for the best flavor use homemade chicken broth
    • Basil chop and add 1/4 cup fresh basil, plus more to serve. Basil leaves are easily bruised so chop by stacking a bunch of leaves then roll them into a log and cut into thin strips.
    • Sugar Its just 1 Tbsp, but necessary to combat the tomato acidity.
    • Black pepper start with 1/2 tsp and add more to taste
    • Whipping cream adds a creaminess to the soup and offsets acidity.
    • Parmesan cheese adds saltiness to the soup and balances acidity. Adding parmesan adds enough salt and I usually dont add more.

Whether its fresh cheese like mozzarella or cheddar, or processed cheese like American or Velveeta, it will not disappoint.

It makes the soup richer, creamier, and more irresistible.

Cashews give the soup that wonderful nuttiness to it. To use, blend a cup of roasted cashews and a cup of vegetable broth in a food processor.

Pulse until you get a smooth and creamy mixture and add it to the simmering soup.

The recipe does not state when to add the diced tomatoes and peppers, although your picture tutorial does. There is also no oven temperature given anywhere. I am guessing its 350. Looking forward to making this for dinner tonight.
