Sweet Potato + Wild Rice Hash
What sounds more appetizing than a sweet potato hash first thing in the morning? I really enjoyed this mix of rice, sweet potato, tomato, great northern beans, and avocado. I suggest pairing this hash with either a fried egg or a hard-boiled egg for additional protein that makes this morning meal that much more filling.
Daily Harvest Harvest Bowl Cups
I only got one of the brands Harvest Bowls, which are grain-based dishes topped with veggies and other superfoods, but Im excited to give it a try. They get cooked up with water or the broth of your choice to make for a yummy, filling, warm meal.
Daily Harvest Butternut Squash + Chimichurri Cup
I love butternut squash, so I picked up this cup right away. Grain bowls make a great lunchfilling, but usually not too heavyplus being able to make this fresh dish in the microwave makes it perfect for work.
I have to say, I didnt love this meal as much as I expected. The blend of flavors was really yummybutternut squash, spinach, beautifully seasoned mushrooms, buckwheatbut even though I followed the instructions, it just came out a bit too wet for me. If I was to get it again, I might start out with half as much water as they call for and add more in from there. I think the additional moisture just made the mushrooms in particular end up tasting kind of slimy and overdone. But all of that said, the dish was SO well seasoned! I loved the aromatic, savory flavor of the chimichurri seasoning. And the convenience of this dish makes me want to try others.
Tart Cherry + Raspberry
I really like cherries and figs, so I was a big fan of this smoothie. The smoothie was tangy and tart, which really activated my tastebuds at 8 a.m. It also just looked vibrant and beautiful after I blended it with protein powder, oat milk, and a dash of cinnamon. I couldn’t even taste the cauliflower in this product. A subtle way to add some veggies to your morning meal, indeed!

Effectiveness For Weight Loss
Although neither service is explicitly designed to promote weight loss, you may lose weight if you include Splendid Spoon or Daily Harvest as part of a balanced, reduced calorie diet.
In particular, both services make calorie counting easy, as they include nutrition information for all of their preportioned products.
Whats more, given that the meals are made with whole, minimally processed ingredients, they may be more supportive of weight loss than highly processed foods, which tend to be higher in calories and may promote weight gain .
Just keep in mind that each of Splendid Spoons items provides two snack-sized servings.
Therefore, if you consume the whole container, youll need to double the calories and other nutrients on the label to accurately track your intake.
Mulberry + Dragon Fruit
I am obsessed with this oat bowl! This is my favorite meal out of every product I tried from Daily Harvest. The combination of dragon fruit, mulberries, and blueberries is unrivaled. The texture, when cooked with oat milk, was absolutely perfect. I ate the entire container in one sitting! I couldn’t get enough of it. I highly recommend this product.

Butternut Squash + Rosemary Pure
This is a great soup to have for lunch in addition to a salad with either lean meat or beans and quinoa. On its own, it’s not that filling, but that’s to be expected as it doesn’t even contain 200 calories. I do enjoy a creamy butter butternut squash soup, though, especially during the fall and winter seasons. I thought the texture was perfect and the flavor was superb the rosemary was prominent yet not overwhelming. All you have to do is blend the ingredients in a blender and then heat the purée in a saucepan on the stovetop. I then transferred the soup into my S’well Onyx Eats thermos so it would be nice and warm for me to enjoy on my lunch break at work.
Daily Harvest Mint + Cacao Smoothie
What a refreshing mint smoothie! I really enjoyed this combination of spinach, cacao, banana, and peppermint. I made this smoothie with oat milk and added a scoop of Herbalife vanilla protein powder to thicken it even more, as well as add in an additional 15 grams of protein. As I mentioned above, I run in the mornings so I like to have proper recovery fuel!

How To Cut Butternut Squash Easily
Cutting butternut squash is simply as easy as eating a squash dish!
Yes, this is so simple to cut butternut squash by cutting with a sharp knife or pruners at a distance from rind without damaging it.
As mentioned in harvesting tips, cut 2-3 inches of stem attached with squash to avoid any damage.
If butternuts have accidental cuts or bruises, you can not store them for longer storage. You have to use them early to prevent any infectious attack.
Or you can also add those damaged squash to compost heap so that you can see new growth next year.
Tempura Style Green Butternut Squash Slices
This idea is for the really green and tender butternuts.
- Chill the squash in the refrigerator overnight or at least 8 hours
- Wash, dry and slice the squash into 1/4 inch rounds.
- Pat them dry with a paper towel and dust with a bit of flour.
- Dip into chilled tempura batter and fry in hot peanut oil. The amount of time in the oil will depend on the maturity of the squash. The squash should be really new and tender so the cook time is short. Taste test your first squash out of the pot and make the cooking time adjustments accordingly.
- Tempura is a study of its own. If you love it, study it! Your time investment will be well rewarded.

These Two Soups Make My Busy Life So Much Easier And Theyre Ready In Less Than 5 Minutes
You find out who your true friends are when youre getting ready to move. The real friends arent the ones who show up with a pickup truck and a half-dozen rolls of packing tape. No, the realest friends are the ones who ask you whether youre sure you really want to move, and who remind you how awful the entire process is. Let me explain.
After spending the past several years in a downtown condo in a medium-sized Southern city, I decided it would be a good time to move to a house with a yard and a second bedroom. And a million little problems, apparently.
The one thing that kept me from having a complete meltdown while moving was that my very first delivery from Daily Harvest arrived at my old address on the same day the movers were wrapping my stuff and explaining they didnt usually break anything. .
I took the box of frozen smoothies, soups, and Harvest Bowls in my own car, and over the next few days, those combos of hand-picked organic fruits and vegetables were an absolute lifesaver. They saved me a trip to the grocery store, which is truly the last thing on my to-do list during a move.
Things will settle downI think. Ill keep my Daily Harvest plan regardless, although I havent decided whether to go with weekly or monthly deliveries. Their cups just make it so easy to have real food and real superfoods whether youre time-crunched because of work, because of your family, or just because of life.

Fried Green Butternut Squash
Another idea for butternut squash that just passed the tender green stage. Technically the squash is still immature but beginning to develop a bit of orange color in the flesh.
- Wash and peel the squash.
- Cut the squash in half and scoop out the newly developing seeds. These can be tough even though they appear quite innocent.
- Cut the halves in half to produce 4 quarters of butternut.
- Now make 1/4 inch slices and fry in butter or olive oil. Add salt and pepper, not too much. You can add more when the dish is finished. But salt and pepper added at the beginning of the cooking process yields a more interesting flavor in your butternut squash. Stir every few minutes and check for burning. Turn the heat as low as possible if burning seems imminent. The cooking time will depend on the age of the butternut when you picked it the older the squash, the more cook time required.
- Some options for this fried squash dish:
- Fry with minced garlic.
- Fry with minced garlic and chopped onion.
- Season with basil, parsley, lemon thyme together or just one of them.
- Chop the butternut squash into smaller pieces for quicker cooking.
Daily Harvest Soup & Chilled Soup Cups
Whats a chilled soup? Its kind of like a smoothie, but with veggies. The texture is a bit like gazpacho, where things are pureed up for you, and the finish is refreshing. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the chilled soups I got, but I will say, the regular soup cup in this box was one of the best DH items I tried!
Daily Harvest Tomato + Bell Pepper Chilled Soup Cup
As you might suspect, this flavor combo tasted just like gazpacho. I like that the ingredients include a kick of apple cider vinegar for an added healthful zip!
Clean, fresh, and full of juicy flavors, this soup was easy to gobble up. I felt full after eating it for lunch, but not so full that I felt weighed down for the rest of my workday. The garlicky flavor permeating through each spoonful really did it for me.
Daily Harvest Asparagus + Cashews Chilled Soup Cup
The next soup stars one of my favorite summer veggiesasparagus! I think its neat how they included cashews in this blended soup in order to give it a little extra protein and salty savoriness.
This was a LOVELY bowl of soup. The cashews didnt really make themselves known, but the bright asparagus flavor was amazing and complemented beautifully by a big punch of basil. I ate this soup for dinner before rushing out the door to an appointment, but I feel like itd be at home in a cute al fresco Italian restaurant.

Daily Harvest Superfood Lattes
Lattes are a unique treat that I didnt even know Daily Harvest offered! I love treating myself to a mid-day latte, but what I pick up from the Starbucks drive-thru isnt always the healthiest choice. These latte cups include three pods per container, which you simply drop into the milk of your choice, heat, and stir to creamy perfection. And like all of Daily Harvests products, theyre made with nutrient-dense ingredients to help make this snack fulfilling as well as tasty.
Daily Harvest Matcha + Lemongrass Superfood Latte Cup
Matcha isnt everyones favoritesome friends of mine find it too grassybut I love it. Im used to mainstream matcha being overly sweet or sugary, but this blend was much fresher and tasted truer to what Id expect from a rich, yet light green tea. It was a little clumpy to stir into my almond milk , but it went down smooth. Keto fans will love that it comes with MCT oil mixed right in, plus chlorella for extra detoxing goodness.
Daily Harvest Coffee + Cardamom Superfood Latte Cup
I knew right away that I was going to love this latte. Cardamom is a flavor that I never could name until a trip I took to Stockholm, where cardamom buns quickly became my new favorite treat. Now I look for it everywhere.

Daily Harvest Smoothie Cups
I ordered two smoothies, both of which are Daily Harvest bestsellers!
Bestseller! Daily Harvest Strawberry + Peach Smoothie Cup
Both of the smoothies I tried were best-selling flavors. This one sounded like summer in a cup, so I was excited to give it a shot!
In addition to the juicy summertime fruits, this blend of frozen goodies included goji berries and oats. Goji berries are known for their antioxidant qualities, and oats are fiber-rich and filling. I loved the creaminess the oats added to the finished product.
I used almond milk for my liquid component , and along with the oats, it made this blend taste thick, smooth, and deliciously dessert-like. It felt like a treat, even though its technically a nutrient-dense health food!
Bestseller! Daily Harvest Mint + Cacao Smoothie Cup
Im used to being a little let down by healthy foods with dessert-inspired namesmy mind always expects the real dessert flavor rather than the healthy interpretation, hehe. But this best-selling recipe sounded tempting, so I decided to give it a shot.
As with the first smoothie, I used almond milk here to make this banana-based smoothie a little more decadent. I did find it deliciously creamy if a little more grassy than I expected . While its certainly not as dreamy as a true mint-chocolate shake, I found the mild sweetness and chocolatey bits to be a nice treat first thing in the morning.
