Our family got a puppy from the local animal shelter and needed to find a quality food to feed her. My husband is an ag teacher and has shown animals and helped students with showing animals for years, so we know the importance of a good, quality food. However, we can not afford to feed some of the more expensive foods. I started researching, and the Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover’s Soul had good reviews, and the price isn’t too bad. The first ingredients listed are meat, and it does not contain corn and wheat as fillers like most of the lower end foods.Our puppy has done really well on this food. She really likes it. I will admit that she likes to eat almost anything, though. Her coat is shiny and smooth, and she is healthy. We feed what is recommended, and her weight is great. There are way too many dogs that are overweight due to overfeeding and being fed something with low quality ingredients. We have switched her over to the adult formula. She did not seem to like it as well at first, but she didn’t refuse to eat it. We buy our food at the local feed store. You can not find it at the large, chain stores.
