Should You Cook Noodles Separately For Soup
It depends.
If youre trying to be speedy, then cooking the noodles right in the soup, as Ive done in the recipe below, is the quickest option.
However, if you have leftovers from the meal, the noodles will continue to soak up liquid while the soup is in the fridge. Youll end up with something more like noodle stew.
So if youre making enough to have leftovers, cook and store the noodles separately from the soup. Then just add them in when youre reheating the soup.

I have tried different types of noodles, and my favorite type to use is kluski. They may be a mid-western thing, because my cousin, who lives in Texas, cant get them. In my humble opinion, they are as close to homemade as you can get out of a bag. The brand doesnt matterIve used Inn Maid, Mrs. Weiss, and also local Amish-made noodles. They are all delicious!

Campbell Soup Iconic Chicken Noodle Soup Now Without Artificial Ingredients
If you are looking for a healthier canned soup to serve your children, the Campbell Soup Company has changed the recipe for two of its kids chicken noodle soups. The two soups are Star Wars and Frozen Shaped Pasta with Chicken in Chicken Broth. The New York Times reports that the new version of the two soups contains 20 ingredients, down from 30 compared to soup sold last year in cans with the Avengers characters. Artificial ingredients like monosodium glutamate , potassium chloride, maltodextrin and disodium guanylate have been removed.

A Campbell representative told Yahoo Health that its traditional Chicken Noodle remains the same, but the company plans to take learnings from the change to the kids recipe and apply it to our other Chicken Noodle recipes over time. The reason is that Campbell is on a journey to transform the recipes of our products.
“This is the first step in our journey and we are currently working on a number of our recipes, but it’s too soon to give any definite timing on when changes may be made to the classic red & white chicken noodle soup,” spokeswoman Anna Burr told NPR.
The new kids soup recipes are part of our commitment to make products which are simpler and fit with changing consumer preferences, the company stated in a press release. This is something we first started talking about in July.

Add The Noodles For This 20
Last but not least, its time to add the noodles and chicken to your 20-minute chicken noodle soup. With your broth at a boil, add in your four cups of egg noodles. If you like a soup thats full of noodles, feel free to add in more as desired. Add in your chicken as well.
Once the egg noodles and chicken have been stirred into the soup mixture, put the lid on your Dutch oven or pot. I mentioned above that for a quick soup, you want a quick-cooking noodle. There are fine egg noodles at the grocery store . The fine egg noodles cook in 3-4 minutes.
Any pasta shape with a similarly short cooking time will work for your quick chicken soup. If youre not making a quick soup and dont care about the time, then Id go with wide egg noodles for sure. Theyre my favorite and dont take that much longer to cook.
