What Temperature To Roast Potatoes

Lipton Onion Oven Roasted Potatoes

You might be surprised the temperature range of roasting potatoes is a bit narrow. Anything below 350 degrees the insides of the potatoes dry out completely long before the outsides brown.

Cooking potatoes above 450 means the outsides can cook and burn leaving you with insides that arent quite done. Ideally, I like to roast potatoes between 375 to 425 degrees.

How To Make Lipton Onion Soup Burgers

First, add the packet of onion soup mix to the ground beef. We usually use around 2 pounds of ground beef, but you can easily adjust the recipe as needed.

Then, add ¼ cup of water. Gently mix the ingredients by hand until the meat is firm enough to handle.

Form the meat into hamburger patties. You should be able to get 6 or 7 patties around ½ inch thick each.

Then, gently press the middle of each patty with your thumb to make an indentation. This helps prevent the hamburgers from shrinking too much while they cook.

The fact of the matter is, I typically use my Airfryer for super lazy last minute meals. Whether Im popping some frozen chicken strips and sweet potato fries or making a mini pizza, it is such a convenient appliance for baking things up quickly and with little fuss. Every now and again, I even use it for a real life recipe like these Airfryer Crispy Roasted Onion Potatoes or Airfryer Baked Thai Peanut Chicken Egg Rolls.

The difference is, this recipe for Airfryer Crispy Roasted Onion Potatoes uses less oil and is ready in a fraction of the time thanks to the Airfryer technology.

Simply toss your baby red potatoes with olive oil and a packet of the onion soup mix and put them in your Airfryer basket. About That Old Lipton Onion Soup Pot Roast Recipe:

Now and then I get asked, Whats American food? And by that, I dont think people mean food recipes that morphed into being here in the States. It seems theyre more curious about what the average American eats. Everyone probably has a different answer, depending on where theyre from. For me, the thing that comes to mind first, being from the Midwest, is pot roast. And specifically, this recipe.

Im talking about a chuck roast, browned and slowly braised in the oven till fork tender and just about falling apart. And you cant have pot roast without those golden brown and delicious potatoes and chunky carrots that are so well seasoned from braising in that broth they dont even taste like carrots anymore.

Savoury Lipton Onion Potatoes Recipe

Every once in a while, I will ask someone for their recipe and they are reluctant to share because its a family recipe or they want to keep the recipe close to their chest so that no one else can make something that scrumdiddlyumptious.

I get that feeling at times. The need to guard what I am attached to. It is a selfish way of living. But, well, I think we all have that territorial or rather possessive bone in us.

Even with that, I am always happy to share my recipes. However, I am somewhat reluctant to share this when someone asks because its so, so easy!

I bet you aint ready for this!

Ingredients You Need For This Ooey

Onions add a vibe to the taste and outlook of a meal. It is the secret ingredient to having a wonderful meal. Or at least getting close to having one. For our recipe, the ingredients are super simple and easy to come across. Hopefully, for this recipe, youll have all you need at your home so that you wont need to step out to get any.

The supplies for the recipe are:

  • Two envelopes of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • Butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

If you love your food extra spicy, you can add more spices of your choice to the list above. But be sure to do it in moderation. We still want to taste the potatoes and onions combo in the meal.

Saving Money On French Onion Soup Burgers:

Anytime youre talking big burgers and specialty buns, youre really getting out of the realm of a truly budget dinner, so burgers like the French Onion Soup Burgers could be considered a bit of a splurge. Theres no better time to splurge on burgers than around a Summer Holiday, though, when ground beef is very likely to be at an absolute low and you can bet burgers at home like this are a fraction of the cost of a restaurant burger! I figured the cost of four burgers and buns as shown ran about $5.79, total, for the four, not for each burger.

Labor Day is coming up and its the last of the Big Three Summer Holidays Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are the others. Youll really want to take a look at all the specials and stock up. Ive written this post to help you out. Many of the items youll see on sale wont be at a low again until next summer. If you like burgers, ribs, etc., pick them up now and toss them in your freezer. At the very least, stock up on condiments. Theres gonna be a Hail Mary for ground beef and condiments around the Super Bowl, too, with some fabulous but maybe not rock bottom pricing.

French Onion Soup Burgers

  • water as needed, about a 3/4 cup
  • 1 tablespoon brandy or Sherry
  • 4 to 8 ounces Swiss or Provolone cheese
  • 4 buns and a little butter or oil to brush them with

Different Types Of Potatoes:

How to Make Onion-Roasted Potatoes
  • Russet- Sometimes, this also goes by the name of Idaho Potato. The most common potato in America, if you go to the grocery store, they are typically sold in 5 and 10-pound bags. They are great for baking, fried and mashed because they are really starchy potatoes.
  • Sweet PotatoesIn America, when you actually purchase a sweet potato, it is really a yam. They are great baked or roasted, my favorite, of course, is the sweet potato french fry.
  • Red Potatoes-When we talk about red potatoes, my mind automatically goes to roasted red potatoes. They have very low starch and moisture content, which makes them perfect for roasting, steaming, and are typically used as the choice potato for potato salad.
  • Fingerling Potatoes- These are characterized by having a thin, and long shape. They are great in roasted dishes, as they give the aroma and taste of a nutty dish. One of the nicest features of them is that they come in a variety of colors, including purple, red, orange, yellow, white and they make any potato dish look fancy, without doing anything.
  • New Potatoes-The only difference between these and other potatoes is that they were picked early in harvesting, so they are smaller.

    Oven directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Heat the oil in a 12-inch ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until well browned on all sides. Sprinkle with Onion Soup Mix. Tuck the potatoes in around the roast, turning to coat with oil. Add the carrots and celery. Pour enough water in to reach halfway up the side of the roast. Cover tightly and place in oven. Braise for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until fork-tender, checking the liquid level about 3/4s of the way through.

Remove beef & vegetables to a platter and cover to keep warm. Pour the juices from the skillet into a large measuring cup. Allow fat to settle on the top and skim off, adding about two tablespoons back to the skillet. Place skillet on a burner and heat to medium-high. Sprinkle flour over the fat and cook, stirring often, until the mixture starts to appear dry, about two minutes. Top off the drippings in the measuring cup with beef broth for a total of two cups, and a splash of wine, if desired. Whisking vigorously, pour the drippings into the pan. Bring to a simmer and cook until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, leaving a distinct line when a finger is run through. Taste and adjust seasoning.
