Also I have used Cashew Cream as a replacement of Sour Cream. Cashew Cream is easily made at home.

Can I Freeze Crockpot Beef Stroganoff

Yes, you can freeze Crockpot Beef Stroganoff but DONT add the sour cream or cream cheese otherwise it will separate when reheated and the texture will be unpleasant. To Freeze:

  • Cook Crockpot Beef Stroganoff according to directions but do NOT add sour cream or cream cheese to Beef Stroganoff.
  • Let Stroganoff cool completely in the refrigerator.
  • Add Stroanoff to a a freezer safe container or freezer size bag.
  • When ready to eat, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Heat on LOW in the slow cooker for 1-2 hours or until warmed through on the stove.

    Cream cheese: In order for your cream cheese to not get lumpy, make sure it is quite soft. I cut it into pieces and soften it into the microwave that way each piece is soft through and through and not just the outside. Take care you whisk your cream cheese so it fully melts. You can use low fat cream cheese but it will likely leave white speckles as it does not melt as well.

    Sour cream: Your sour cream is less likely to curdle if it is at room temperature. You can use low fat sour cream but it will naturally not be as creamy and does not melt as well and tends to leave white speckles. It will still taste fine but just something to b aware of.

It isnt pretentious, it uses simple ingredients and it is a cheap dish that can easily feed your entire family. Just some ground beef, seasonings, an easy gravy mix and boom dinner is served!

    What Is The Best Meat For Stroganoff

    There are a few variations of Beef Stroganoff such as Beef Stroganoff with Meatballs and Beef Stroganoff with ground beef but the most common type of Beef Stroganoff is Beef Stroganoff with thinly sliced beef. When someone refers to Beef Stroganoff, they are referring to the latter and that is what we are making today.

    • Top Sirloin: I like to use top sirloin for Crock Pot Beef Storganoff because it is still economical but more tender than flank steak or other such cuts. It transforms into melt-in-your-mouth-tender when cooked in the slow cooker.
    • Rib Eye: You are also welcome to use more expensive rib eye as well. You can also use tougher cuts such as chuck roast or stew meat, just be aware you will likely have to cook your Crockpot Beef Storganoff for longer in order to tenderize the beef.
    • Ground Beef: You can also use lean ground beef but make sure to cook it before you add it to the crockpot and drain off the grease otherwise your stroganoff will be excessively greasy.

    To thinly slice your top sirloin or rib eye, place it in the freezer for 30-60 minutes to firm up a bit. This allows you to slice the beef without it squirming beneath your knife. The beef will defrost quickly once you start slicing, so dont worry about it being frozen.

    This is such an easy and quick dinner for the family. If you’re bored of the usual and want to make something quick for dinner, try this 15 minute Mushroom Stroganoff.

    This Vegan Mushroom Stroganoff is Dairy-free & Gluten free.

    Healthy, Creamy and Comforting Mushroom Stroganoff is a wonderful plant based meal which kids would love. At least mine did. Its just so indulging and hearty and comes together in just 15 minutes from scratch.

    Ingredients For Beef Stroganoff Casserole With Ground Beef

    • Egg noodles

    Boil the egg noodles until al dente, then drain and toss with melted butter.

    Step 2: Cook Beef

    While the noodles boil, cook the beef, mushrooms, onion and garlic until the meat is no longer pink. Drain off the fat.

    Step 3: Prepare Creamy Sauce

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and the milk. Add the soup mixture to the ground beef, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes.

    Remove the beef mixture from the heat and stir in the sour cream until completely combined.

    Step 4: Layer in Dish

    Place a layer of noodles in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish. Top with some of the sauce, and then repeat the layers two more times.

    Step 5: Bake

    Cover and bake in a 325 degree F oven for about 20 minutes, or just until heated through. Remove the cover and sprinkle the fried onions on top.

    Return the dish to the oven for about 5-7 more minutes .

    Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff is made with things I bet you have in your cupboard! You need ground beef, egg noodles, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup and some seasonings! That is it!

    If you hate canned creamed soups this recipe is not for you! There are quite a few recipes that I use the canned creamed soups in, and I love how fast I can throw a meal together with them. Not to mention they give it great flavor! This recipe calls for it and its downright delicious!

    I put my egg noodles on to cook first, I only use 1/2 lb, so half the bag of egg noodles. Then while the pasta is boiling and cooking I brown my ground beef, in a large skillet, then rinse it and drain it. Then the ground beef goes back into the same skillet.

    SIDE NOTE: It is totally a personal preference on if you need to rinse your ground beef. Most people just drain their meat and dont rinse it because they worry the lose all the flavor when they rinse it. I just feel better rinsing itweird, I as you wish.

    Next, I add my can of cream of mushroom soup, sour cream and seasonings.

    You can easily adjust the seasonings to your liking.

    Last, add in the cooked egg noodles once they are done and drained.

    I always salt and pepper to taste, then let it warm a bit longer, then taste and adjust again once all the flavors have warmed and come together!

    Easy as that, and in under 30 minutes you will have a hot, delicious meal on the table that everyone will like!

    How To Thicken The Sauce

    Easy Beef Stroganoff With Cream Of Mushroom Soup  ...

    The flour and cornstarch already included in this beef stroganoff recipe are in place to thicken the sauce. However, if its still not thickened to your liking, you have a couple of options:

  • Cook for a bit longer with the lid off so some of the liquid can evaporate.
  • Mix in extra sour cream or cream cheese. This should help to thicken the sauce, but may also make the sauce a bit too tangy so adjust the seasonings if necessary.
  • Add a touch more flour and/or cornstarch. Start with a very small amount and as more as needed. You can always add more but you cant take any out.
  • Keep in mind that the sauce will thicken as it sits and the noodles will help soak up the liquid.

    I love hearty, classic beef dishes from Perfect Pot Roast and Mississippi Pot Roast to Lasagna,French Dips and Beef Brisket, but the most comforting of them all is this Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff.

    Beef Stroganoff has long been a favorite of mine. If youve never had this Russian retro dish, its a creamy beef and mushroom sauce served over noodles. Its rich, hearty, and satisfying, layered with flavors and did I say SO creamy already? After one taste, you will see why Beef Stroganoff has been around for hundreds of years and hopefully this Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff version will be passed down from generation to generation.

    To modernize this Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff, Ive eliminated commonly used mystery cream of mushroom soup, used my own blend of spices and made it less labor intensive by using the slow cooker.

    How To Make Ground Beef Stroganoff:

    Bring a pot of water to boil and begin to cook egg noodles according to package directions. In a large skillet over medium high heat, brown ground beef along with the onions and garlic until thoroughly cooked. I like to leave chunks of ground beef and not break it up too small.

    Drain ground beef to remove excess grease from pan. Put pan back on stove over medium heat Add butter to pan and let it melt.

    Then add flour to pan, stir and let it absorb butter.

    Now add beef broth and whisk vigorously to remove any lumps, turning the heat up to high, bringing it to a boil for 2-3 minutes until you see it thicken slightly.

    Bring temperature down to medium and whisk in sour cream and cream of mushroom soup. Stir until mixture is thoroughly incorporated. Add salt & pepper. Keep tasting mixture until it is seasoned the way you like. I probably use a good teaspoon and half or more of salt and pepper. If it gets too thick on you, just add a tad more beef broth.

    Add ground beef back to mixture. Stir and then allow to simmer for about 5 minutes.

    Serve over egg noodles.

    Bonus Tips To Thicken The Stroganoff Sauce

    Remember that the Stroganoff Sauce will thicken as it gets cooked. If its not thickening, you can add some Cornstarch slurry to thicken it.

    Hint: I like to cook the Stroganoff Sauce on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This naturally thickens the sauce.

    Also as the Stroganoff cools down it automatically thickens.
