Breville Flow Hand Blender
Best budget hand blender
· Low power· No safety feature
With a very wallet-friendly price tag the Breville Flow Hand Blender is our budget choice. Its a no-frills design that doesnt come with any accessories other than a beaker. When blending soup, the normal mode didnt feel very powerful, it was much better in turbo, although it took longer than the others to achieve a smooth consistency.
We noticed some vibration up through the handle, but thankfully there was very little suction towards the base of the pan. A big selling point of this particular stick blender is that its significantly lighter than all of the others on this list, making it a great choice for anyone with hand or wrist issues looking for a lighter model.
If you want a stick blender for occasional use or for simple tasks like creating smooth milkshakes and soups, this budget model will get the job done.

The Best Value Blender For Soup
- Amazon rating: 4.6 stars, 3,900+ ratings
- Pitcher: 48-ounces, borosilicate glass, 24-ounce blending cup, both dishwasher-safe
- Special features: dual blade direction blending, 7 speeds, 3 pre-programmed settings
Oster makes one of the few affordable blenders with a borosilicate glass jar, and this particular model also comes with a 24-ounce blending cup in case you want to make to-go smoothies. The stainless steel blade assembly utilizes Osterâs patented dual blade direction technology that blends in both forward and reverse motion to release and break down ingredients that can otherwise get trapped by blender blades. Seven speeds allow you to slowly increase blending to control splatter when processing hot ingredients, and you can also select from three preset buttons for making smoothies, salsa, and milkshakes. The small blending cup should not be used for making hot soup, but is great for making smoothies to take on the go, or for small batch dressings or sauces. The blending jar is dishwasher-safe and the lid has a venting cap that can be removed to release steam.
Helpful review: âIt does the work well and seems to have enough power to get through anything that I want to do. I would recommend this blender for those who like to cook and bake. For example, it does great with butternut squash soup as well as fruit to make jams.â

Hamilton Beach Cheapest Blender Option
Hamilton Beach is another well known appliance brand. They have made blenders for a very long time. The Hamilton Beach Power Elite is one of our favorite cheap blenders.
Positives:This blender is simple to operate with push button controls and no electric programs. Features a thermal glass jar and 3 year warranty.
Negatives: Limited in blending performance as it is not intended to blend thick recipes, hard ingredients, or fibrous smoothies.
Overall Opinion: A great blender for simple blending tasks and could easily blend hot drinks or soft ingredient soups. Very few blenders in this price range offer a glass jar which is a nice bonus to have with hot liquids.
Overall there isnt much to analyze about this blender. It is basic but works fine if you blend with enough liquid.
How to use Hamilton Beach:
When blending hot liquids, open the lids vent opening and close any pour spout openings. If pouring with lid in place then ensure the hinged cap is securely in place. Hot liquids may push lid off of jar during blending.
Do not fill blender jar beyond the 3-cup level in order to prevent burns. With the protection of an oven mitt or thick towel, place one hand on top of lid. Keep exposed skin away from lid. Start blending at lowest speed.
A Powerhouse Option Thats Powerful And Quick
- Five variable speed options
- Portable and ergonomic design for easy usage
Packing in an impressive 600-watt motor, All-Clads cordless immersion blender is one of the most powerful options on the market. While it does a splendid job of pureeing smoothies, soups and dressings, you can also use it to crush ice, make nut butter and more. The immersion blender also includes a safety feature that will automatically lock itself if you dont press the trigger after 30 seconds. While the blender is designed to get to those hard-to-reach spots in containers, the brand recommends steering clear of using the blender in nonstick pans or cast iron pots.

How To Choose The Best Hand Held Immersion Blender
Of all the things that a handheld immersion blender can do, it is best to know about the devices you are using, their specs, and make your choice in that regard to crown it the best-rated immersion hand blender for you.
The Size of the Hand Held Blender
The size may vary fro, big and heavy, too small and lightweight. You should be able to pick the one that works best for both you and your kitchen needs. You can choose a large handheld blender which will be perfect if you need to blend more foods. A mini hand blender which is a portable one is otherwise good for people who want to reduce hand fatigue as they use their blenders.
Power of the Motor
For more work, you might require a motor with a higher power. Powers can be as high as 1000 watts or as little as 110 watts. It all works but affects how quickly the blades are rotated and the food is blended. You should also pay attention to the energy consumption, as higher powers consume more energy. It all depends on what you are using your handheld blender for. A medium-power one or a small hand blender works fine for personal use.
Number Of Speeds of the Blender
The Material Of the Hand Held Blender
Another thing that influences the price, weight, and size of the blender is the material that the immersion blender is made of. Some are made simply, with one metal, and others are complex, made of several materials at the same time, to increase quality and functionality.

Best Overall: Braun Mq7035x 3
When it comes to immersion blenders, many have the same features and accessories, so it can be hard to make the best overall pick. Braun MQ7035X 3-in-1 Immersion Blender won out in our eyes because of a few thoughtful design elements that stood out among the pack. The primary thing that stood out about this Braun model was its ACTIVEblade technology. Its essentially a spring-loaded shock system built into the shaft that allows the blade to move up and down as you apply pressure, giving it a 250% more active cutting surface. Next is the Easy Smartspeed Technology, a one-button control panel that controls the desired power of the unit based on the pressure you apply. Although this takes some getting used to, its a really nice feature, especially when working with large batches. The patented POWERBell Plus features an extra milling blade to provide more slices per rotation, and at 500 watts, its powerful enough for almost any task. Coming with a whisk, food processing attachment, and blending cup, you get a lot of value for the price with this Braun immersion blender.

This super-affordable machine is ideal for anyone who needs a stick blender for everyday tasks such as blitzing soups or making smoothies. We like the simple one-touch function. It’s surprisingly powerful for the price, meaning it shouldn’t conk out after one use, and it’s easy to keep clean too: you can detach the head and pop both that and the jug in the dishwasher, though a quick rinse with some warm soapy water works just as well.
Youll need to move it around a bit while its going to make sure everything is fully blended and the jug that it comes with isn’t really useful for much. However, you can use it with other jugs and bowls, so that shouldn’t be a problem if you’re not doing any hardcore blending.

You can tell this is top-drawer the moment you take it out of the box. While not the lightest of stick blenders, it is nice and compact and sits beautifully in the hand, working quickly and proficiently with just the right level of oomph to transform the toughest of lumps into velvety smooth mixtures. Meanwhile, the accessories make light work of chopping, pureeing, stirring, mincing, blending, frothing and emulsifying, with particularly impressive results when it comes to mayonnaise and whipped cream.

Whizz Up Soups Sauces And Salsas In A Flash
A decent hand blender means the days of making lump-free soups, sauces, dips and smoothies with a manual whisk or wooden spoon are long gone. In fact, the very best hand blenders will transform your meal prepping, making it much faster and easier, with no need to even bother moving your ingredients out of your saucepan or bowl. Many do come with their own beaker, though, so you do at least have the option.
It doesnt stop there, though. Many stick blenders do much more than just blending thanks to their rich array of attachments that whisk, beat, slice, dice, mash and more. These multitasking machines take up less space in your kitchen and require much less washing-up than the likes of a jug blender or food processor.
With stick blenders ranging anywhere from £10 to £300, how much do you really need to spend on one? Do you always get bang for your buck? Which features are genuinely useful and which models would we recommend?

Best Hand Blender For Soups
Hand blenders, often called immersion blenders, are an excellent addition to your essential kitchen tools. They can handle major tasks such as pureeing soups or blending smoothies and minor tasks that include whip cream and salad dressing.
I sorta cringe every time a soup recipe calls for cornstarch as thickening agent. Nothing wrong with cornstarch or flour, but many times you can thicken a soup by blending up some of the food base, and not modify the flavors with any additive thickeners. With a hand blender, you get the power of a standalone blender in the palm of your hand, giving you more control, speedier results, and easier cleanup compared to a full-size blender.
We took a look at the best immersion blenders available today. Some come with extra accessories and features. Some are more affordably priced and simple to use.
Can A Hand Blender Crush Ice
No, hand blenders are not well equipped for crushing ice. Non-commercial blenders, which are usually handheld blenders are not arable of crushing ice. However, countertop blenders could possibly shave the ice. A good tool to make ice crumbs for your homemade Mai Tai may be the best blender for smoothies.

What Do Immersion Blenders Do That A Regular Blender Cannot
The top reason why many people buy an immersion blender is for pureeing hot soups right in the pot. This limits the margin to make a mess from transferring the liquid from your cookware to a blender or food processor.
It takes no more than a minute or two to puree the whole pot to the exact consistency you want, whether it’s pureeing just some of the food to make a creamy base for the soup, while leaving the rest chunky, or making it all silky-smooth. That’s the totally genius application for an immersion blender and once you’ve used one this way you will NOT go back to any other way, said McManus.
Immersion blenders also are great for making homemade mayonnaise, hollandaise sauce, salad dressing, pesto or even whipped cream. However, one thing that was not recommended for immersion blenders were smoothies because the fruit and greens dont break down far enough with this tool.
Can You Whip Cream With A Stick Blender
Whipping cream with your stick blender is fast and easy. Our home economist, Fiona Mair, says to simply place the cream in a glass jug and away you go. Move your stick blender in an up-and-down motion to incorporate air into the mixture and if your stick blender has a lower speed setting, use it. You may need to stop and stir the mixture halfway through but it doesn’t take long so take care not to over-whip your cream.

What Are Immersion Blenders Best For
Great for small jobs like making pesto, dips, mayonnaise, whipped cream, scrambled eggs, and so much more, immersion blenders can whip up smoothies, milkshakes, and frozen drinks for one or two people but that’s where they cap out since the motor are smaller and cannot run for a very long time without overheating.
Avoid hard foods or very fibrous ones because they wont get silky smooth. Instead, stick to a high-powered blender or food processor. Also, the blade needs to be fully submerged to work – you may have trouble blending very small quantities.
Best Hand Blender 202: For Blending Smooth Soups Shakes And Sauces
The best hand blenders are a fantastic alternative to full-size jug blenders and have sharp blades that are capable of blitzing soups and shakes into smooth tasty treats. Not only are they smaller and easier to store than many of the best blenders, but they can be used in any container, from huge pans of soup to small jugs of batter or baby food.
While you can buy a hand blender without any accessories, its common for them to come with attachments like whisks and mini choppers which makes them really versatile little kitchen gadgets. Mini chopper attachments are useful for chopping herbs and vegetables or making salsas and dips. But be sure to check what accessories you really need as well as what you already have, theres no point doubling up, its a waste of money and the attachments will just gather dust in your valuable kitchen storage space.
We like the stick blenders that have added safety features built-in, theres a reduced risk of switching the blender on accidentally, which is a great feature if youve got children in the house. Most come with a tall blending jug thats the perfect size and shape for optimal results, but as we said, you can use them in almost any container.

Flaws But Not Dealbreakers
Breville recommends that you use the Control Grip for only a minute at a time, with a minute of rest between blendings. This is customary procedure for many hand blenders, and it helps to prevent the machine from overheating and therefore keep it in good working order longer. In some of our tests, we tried using the Breville continuously for up to four minutes, and it did not overheat or stall.
In our 2021 tests, the Breville succeeded at making super-speedy mayo . In previous rounds of testing, however, the Breville struggled with the quick mayo, and we had better luck using the whisk attachmentplus, the recipe for basic mayonnaise included in the Breville instruction booklet says to gradually drizzle oil into egg mixture. Ultimately, we dont think this is a dealbreaker because you will be able to make mayo with this blender one way or another.
Also, if youre not careful, the Breville will totally pulverize an onion in its chopper attachment. We suggest pulsing judiciously and checking the consistency of the items in the chopper attachment after just a few seconds to keep from overprocessing.
