Amys Mushroom Bisque Soup With Porcini Review

Panera’s Cream Of Tomato Soup – RIPOFF RECIPE

Amys Mushroom Bisque Soup with Porcini is a mild-tasting, partly organic mushroom soup, rather light in consistency, but in line with the bisque tradition, contains lots and lots of medium-sized mushroom pieces, and has a creamy texture. Really gives you something pleasant to chew on, as you get some in every bite. They do not sink to the bottom so fast, so constant stirring is not necessary. Amys organic soups are served in our kitchen at least several times per week, and this is perhaps our favorite mushroom soup in the pantry.

Youre Going To Find A Healthy Dose Of Minerals

The canned variety of tomatoes can be utilised for making a delicious sauce for pasta rich in minerals. Though it belongs to the category of the toxic nightshade family, their nutritional value turns manifold when cooked. The mineral and vitamin content includes about 18 milligrams of calcium, and 43 milligrams of phosphorus. They also include 427 milligrams of potassium, 24.7 milligrams of Vitamin-C and 1499 IU or international units of Vitamin-A. A lot of people suffer from potassium deficiency. It is the sort of mineral that people do not get from most of the natural sources. However, the puree or juices of tomatoes make about 534 mg of potassium easily accessible. This is the reason why tomato soups have been a legitimate part of the Mediterranean diet.

Vegan Chunky Tomato Bisque

Amy

This was my most recently sampling, and I was impressed. Amys has a tomato bisque with milk, but theyve since released this vegan variety with a touch of coconut cream for richness. The flavor is bold, yet pure and perfectly salted. I found it to be just a touch too sweet , but it tempers well with add-ins or bread for dipping.

Light In Sodium Lentil

Sadly, my first thought was, hmm, needs salt. Resisting the urge I reached for the pepper grinder instead. Both Tony and I thought this was a good move. While I often find Amys Chili a bit too spicy, this soup was on the bland side and lacked zing. Even after the peppering, the soup was still shouting for an additional herb or spice, but I couldnt quite make out which one. Cumin? Paprika? Rosemary? Perhaps some future experimentation will tell. Beyond the flavor, I liked the heartiness of this soup. Rich with lentils, and light on liquid, I could easily fill up on a whole can. But instead, I served it over brown rice, making a little lunchtime meal for two.

To tame the heat, I made a meal for two out of the single can, pouring it atop two bowls filled with a base of brown rice and steamed sweet potato chunks. The soup itself contains black beans, potatoes, carrots, and corn all in a spicy, tomato base. On its own, if you can handle the kick, the entire can would make a good light meal for one.

How Can You Make Canned Soup Better

Canned soup is a great starting point for a mealâwith a little creativity and some spare ingredients, you can turn a basic soup into much more. Have some extra kale or spinach on hand in your fridge? Toss those greens into the pot and let them wilt down in just moments. If you have extra frozen veggies in your freezer , throw them into the pot, and let the simmering soup warm them through for a few minutes. This will not only add substance to your soup, but it will add tons of nutrients .

If you have any extra rotisserie chicken, cut or shred it into small pieces and add it to a vegetarian soup for a protein boost. If you have any extra plain white rice from your Chinese takeout meal a few days back, give it a new life by adding it to your soup! And donât forget about garnishes a simple topping or side can really elevate a canned soup. Easy sides like garlic bread, toasted baguette, a sprinkle of shaved Parmesan, and crushed tortilla chips can turn a light dish into a filling meal. Even a squeeze of citrus or sprinkle of fresh herbs can add a bright element to liven up the canned soup.
