How To Choose A Blender For Smoothies
When you choose a blender to make smoothies you need to make sure the blender is going to do the work for you. Ideally, the blender should either be built for making smoothies specifically or at least mention that it can make smoothies. If the blender just vaguely says it will blend ingredients up to a smooth consistency, that is not good enough for a lump-free smoothie.
You’ll also want to consider:
Capacity: Keep in mind the number of smoothies you want to create in the blender. If it is just for one or two people, then a smaller and more compact smoothie blender is going to be the best option. Anything with a 16-ounce to a 32-ounce container will be a wise choice. If you are wanting to make a larger quantity of smoothies at one time, then maybe splurge for the larger blenders on our list. Their capacities go all the way up to 72oz, while still being able to create a smooth drink you can enjoy the same way.
Making More Than Smoothies? If you are wanting to do more with your blender than just make smoothies like make pureed foods, soups, salsa, and crushed ice, then keep that factor into consideration. You might be interested in the Nutribullet Pro which is on the top of our list for making smoothies. However, if you want to also crush ice and make other foods, you may want to spring for a larger yet more expensive model like the Vitamix E310.
What To Look For In Best Blender For Smoothies And Soups
There are a few key features to look for when purchasing a blender for smoothies and soups.
The most important consideration is the power of the blender. A powerful blender will be able to blend ingredients smoothly and quickly, without leaving chunks behind.
In addition, it is important to consider the size of the blender. If you plan on making large batches of smoothies or soups, you will need a large blender that can handle the volume. Some blenders also come with multiple blades or attachments that can be used for different tasks, such as grinding nuts or chopping vegetables.
Finally, consider how easy the blender is to use and clean. Look for a model with simple controls and dishwasher-safe parts for easy cleanup.
What To Consider Before Buying A Blender
When it comes to finding the right blender for your home, there are several factors to consider. The right blender for your household will depend on what you want to produce, how many people you want to produce it for, and where you want to enjoy the products. Luckily, were here to help you choose the right device with our top tips and advice.
Heres a quick overview of the blenders in general. The best Ninja blenders are known for their powerful and seamless designs, which crush ice with ease. Youll also find personal blenders built to produce smaller portions for individuals, while portable blenders are ideal for enjoying your creations on the go. Additionally, some blenders are better for making smoothies and some blenders can double as a food processor, saving you the expense of having two separate devices.

Which Blender Is Best For Smoothies
We think the best blender for making smoothies is the NutriBullet Personal Blender, since it has a high-speed blend function plus sturdy blades that allows it to liquify frozen fruits and veggies with relative ease. We’re also fans of the Sage/Breville Super Q Blender for its efficient-yet-powerful ice crush program and dedicated green smoothie button that removes any trace of fiber and spinach specks.
Generally speaking, you’ll want to find a smoothie blender with blades that can pulverize ice and frozen fruits and veg into silky smooth liquids with minimal grit. Also, seek a model with a travel cup and lid so you can take your drinks on the go. In the case of personal blenders, you should be able to remove the cup right from the base as soon as you’re done blending. For larger-scale models, seek a container that doubles as a pitcher so you can pour your drinks straightaway.

Chef Rates The 5 Best Blenders For Smoothies
Updated: Mar 28, 2022 by Kevin Gillenwater · As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases
I really love smoothies. Not only because of all the health benefits they provide but also how delicious they can be. It’s a shame they’re so expensive from stores. It’s also a shame you don’t know how long they have been sitting there. That is why I love to make smoothies at home using my personal blender. I can make any kind of smoothie I want as well as food purees, milkshakes, and healthy juices. Once I started using a blender to make my smoothies, I never went back to buying them again.
Before I leaped at a new blender purchase, I decided to test out 7 different models that came highly recommended. After reviewing them all, I can honestly say that the NutriBullet Pro 900 is the best value blender for smoothies you could want. The blender was extremely efficient, priced low and came with all the accessories you could need to have all the smoothies you want, anywhere you want.
When it comes to making smoothies, you are going to need a very powerful blender to ensure all the ingredients get blended well and the drink becomes smooth. There are plenty of blenders available to choose from but not all are created equal. Not all blenders will be able to get a drink equally smooth. Some blenders can’t handle certain ingredients.

Cleaning The Zwilling Enfinigy
The Zwilling Enfinigy Countertop Power Blender has a self-clean mode, which pulses powerfully to reach all areas of the interior of the blender. One area it struggled to reach was the removable lid insert, which I found was best cleaned by hand.
Technically you can wash this blender jug in the dishwasher, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Because the handle is hollow to allow the lid safety feature to work, putting it in the dishwasher could lead to a buildup of dirt or debris. Besides, the self-clean mode does most of the work for you, and takes only a few seconds.

The Best Premium Blender For Soup
- Amazon rating: 4.7 stars, 4,100+ ratings
- Pitcher: 48 ounces, BPA-free Tritan plastic, dishwasher-safe
- Special features: 10 speeds + pulse, blade friction heating
Boasting an impressive 4.7-star rating overall, Vitamixs blenders are some of the best for hot blending, due to their wide speed range, durable hardened stainless steel blades, and dishwasher-safe Tritan pitchers. This blender from the brands Explorian line comes with a 48-ounce pitcher thats ideal for small to medium batches, and has a tight-fitting lid with a venting cap. The best part? The blades rotate fast enough to create friction heat that brings cold ingredients to steaming hot in a matter of six minutes. The simple controls on the Explorian include a pulse button for adding texture to soup, or for chopping up tough ingredients when making salsas, purees, or frozen treats, but keep in mind that there are no pre-programmed settings. The blenders variable speed dial allows you to start slowly and ramp up to a high speed for safely pureeing hot and cold soups, as well as other recipes like sauces and nut milks. A tamper is included for blending thick dips, nut butters, or heavy frozen recipes. While its not dishwasher-safe, it self-cleans with a little soap and water at the highest speed.

Stick Or Immersion Blenders
Stick blenders are made up of a blade at the end of a long shaft that houses the motor. These blenders can work in just about any container they fit into, and are perfect for blending soups and sauces right in the pot. Many cooks love them for their ability to make a small amount of mayonnaise in a jar. Their small size means theyre easy to store, and most even fit in a drawer. Some come with accessories, like a whisk, extra blades, or chopping jars that could be beneficial.
How To Clean A Blender
Staying on top of cleaning your blender is key if you want it to last as long as possible and if you want to avoid any nasty odors building up. Many blending jugs can be placed inside the dishwasher but you can also clean them by adding warm water and dish soap to the blending jug, placing the lid on, and blending up the soapy solution.
If youre struggling to get rid of any stubborn stains, create your own cleaning paste using 1 tablespoon of baking soda and mix it with 1 teaspoon of white vinegar. You can add this solution to the stains by using a clean scrubbing brush or a clean toothbrush.

Do Blender Blades Need To Be Replaced
In general, your blender blades should last you the lifetime of the machine with proper washing and care. Unlike knives, you shouldnt have to worry about sharpening them, either. However, if the blade gets damaged, some companiesCuisinart, for exampledo sell replacement blades, but they can be pricey.
Cuisinart Smart Power Duet Blender
This blender from Cuisinart is designed to double as a food processor, so you get two kitchen appliances in one. It has a seven-speed touchpad that controls pulse, stir, chop, mix and purée, with each one indicated via an LED light. Best Splurge: Vitamix Immersion Blender
If you know blenders, you know a Vitamix is hard to beat. Youre always going to have to spend more on the Vitamix name, but in return, you get the peace of mind of knowing you purchased a quality piece of equipment that is built to last. Not only that, but they stand behind their products, offering a three-year warranty. At this price point, we were a bit disappointed you dont get any other handy attachments like some of the other models. But what you do get is 625 watts of power, a built-in plastic pot/pan guard, and a top-mounted LED power meter. Another feature we loved with this immersion blender is how it shuts off automatically if you let go of the power button. This feature is great for preventing messes and saving fingers if you drop the blender.

Chopping In The Ninja Professional Plus
If you’re used to chopping vegetables by hand, you will be amazed at the difference a food processor can make. I put a zucchini, some celery, and carrots into the food processor before pressing the chop button. This ran a pulsing mode on and off for about 30 seconds, which left me with very evenly chopped ingredients ready to fry off for the base of a tomato sauce.
I really enjoyed the multi-layered blades which ensured that it was not just the ingredients at the bottom of the bowl that were chopped.
The capacity of the food processor bowl is 8 cups, which is plenty for even large portions. If you want to add more as you chop there is a removable cup which will allow you to drop more in while the processor works.
Same as the blender, you need to lock down the lid on the food processor, which also causes some bulk when storing.
