The Best Immersion Blender For Soup
- Amazon rating: 4.5 stars, 38,000+ ratings
- Pitcher: n/a
- Special features: 8 speeds + turbo setting, whisk and frother attachments included
The benefits of an immersion blender go beyond easy storage, one being its budget-friendly price, and another being its ability to blend hot soups directly in the cooking pot â no transferring required . The Mueller immersion blender has a variable dial with eight speeds as well as a high-speed turbo setting, which allows you to mix ingredients slowly, as well as efficiently puree them. The stainless steel blending shaft and blades can reach into deep pots, and they detach easily for cleaning in the dishwasher or by hand. There are no preset programs, but this versatile pick also comes with a whisk attachment for making whipped cream and eggs, and a frothing attachment for foaming milk. One important thing to keep in mind: An immersion blender will be less powerful than a stand blender, so itâs best for soft ingredients or chunkier soups.
Helpful review: âNow that the weather by is turning colder I like to make my own soup. The immersion blender makes it so much easier. Theres no need to transfer the ingredients to a food processor. It all gets done in one pot. Would absolutely recommend this product to others.â
Cleanblend Lots Of Power For The Price
We have written about the Cleanblend blender before as it is one of the few blenders that offers similar power and performance as a Vitamix for a lower price.
It looks like a replica of a Vitamix 5200 with similar features and controls.
Positives:Plenty of power and great price. Performed well in comparison tests and has strong user reviews. Decent 5 year warranty for this blender price range. Can puree anything and is great for making soups.
Negatives: Takes longer to turn cold ingredients into hot liquids compared to Vitamix and Blendtec. It is loud.
Overall Opinion: The Cleanblend is a more economical choice if you cant afford a Vitamix. The only real negative is that Cleanblend is a newer company and doesnt have the long-standing brand quality reputation of Vitamix.

Other Soup Blenders To Consider:
Nutribullet Rx : The Nutribullet Rx falls in the middle price range of the above blenders and is a large-size personal blender with a built-in soup heating function. Most personal blenders use a sealed jar which prevents you from blending hot liquids, but the Rx offers a separate jar with vented lid.
It has a lot of power for the size and can puree most ingredients into a soup-like consistency. Just push the G button on the front for 2 seconds to activate a 7 minute heating cycle which will heat up the ingredients with its built in heater. It is a good option if you just want a small-size blender.
What about an Immersion Blender for hot liquids?
Immersion blenders or Handheld Blenders are simple to use and great for whipping and frothing a hot drink. They can make simple soups right in the pan or bowl that you already have the hot ingredients in but struggle at blending raw ingredient soups.
An immersion blender should have a shaft thats long enough to reach the bottom of the pot for a consistent texture.

So Which Blender Is Better Blendtec Or Vitamix
Both blenders make hot soup the same way, although we have found that the Blendtec is faster for heating up soup. Starting with cold/room temperature liquid it only takes 3 to 4 minutes to heat up a soup to steaming in a Blendtec blender where as in a Vitamix blender it take around 5 to 6 minutes. The reason for this being that the Blendtec has a more powerful motor than the Vitamix. That said, both blenders are able to EASILY make all types of soups, either 100% completely in the blender or more easily pureeing cooked ingredients before requiring a longer simmer.

Blender Criteria To Consider
Temperature Rating :
Every blender brand has different criteria when it comes to blending hot ingredients as some are not rated to safely handle hot temperatures.
Certain blender manufacturers only allow room temperature liquids so make sure to reference the manufacturers manual to see if they have a temperature rating limit.
Container Type :
Most brand name blenders now use high impact BPA-Free plastic which can withstand heat. Otherwise there are a limited number of blender models that use glass jars which generally work fine with warm liquids.
Some blenders have enough horsepower to create hot soups from cold ingredients through heat friction. It is important to distinguish between needing a blender for hot coffee drinks and a blender for making hot soups.
Blade Design :
Blade design can effect the blending consistency and determine whether or not you can can make hot recipes from cold liquids.
Blades that draw the ingredients down to the bottom to create a Vortex are best because they cause even blending and will create friction for heating up the ingredients.
Some blender blade designs like Ninjas Total Crushing blade dont perform as well at blending soups and wont heat up the ingredients.
Lid Design :
Finally, make sure the blender is designed with a vented lid to release pressure from steam. DONT use upside down bullet blenders with hot liquids.
