Short Ribs Braised In Guinness

Seems like braised short ribs adorn every French and Italian menu in the country these days. And why not? It’s an inexpensive dish that takes minimal effort from the chef but that can still fetch a $20+ price tag wherever it’s served. Why pay the money for something you can do just as well at home, especially if you can cut the calories in half?

YOU’LL NEED2 lb boneless short ribsSalt and black pepper to taste2 cans or bottles Guinness Draught2 cups low-sodium beef broth3 large carrots, cut into large chunks2 onions, quartered2 stalks celery, cut into large chunks8 cloves garlic, peeled

1/2 cup chopped parsley 2 cloves garlic, minced grated zest of 2 oranges or lemons

HOW TO MAKE IT

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet or sauté pan over high heat. Season all sides of the ribs with salt and pepper. Cook them until a rich brown crust develops on the outside. Remove the ribs and place in a slow cooker. While the pan is still hot, add the beer and scrape up any bits stuck to the bottom with a wooden spoon. Pour the beer over the short ribs.
  • Add the broth, carrots, onions, celery, garlic, and bay leaves to the short ribs and set the slow cooker to high. Cook for 4 hours, until the beef is tender and nearly falling apart. Discard the bay leaves.
  • If using gremolata, mix the parsley, garlic, and orange zest. Serve the beef over soft polenta or mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with the gremolata .

    Irresistible Easy Slow Cooked Chile Pie

    HOW TO MAKE IT

  • Spray the inside of your slow cooker with oil thoroughly. This step is very important!
  • Add all ingredients to the slow cooker: oats, coconut milk, water, apples, brown sugar, coconut oil, cinnamon, and sea salt. Stir to combine well.
  • Cook on low for 5-7 hours depending on your cooker. Some take longer and some are faster. We recommend trying a test run during the day to see how long your slow cooker takes before trying overnight.
  • Serve and allow to cool. If desired, add toppings of your choice.

    How Long Does It Take To Cook Cabbage Soup

    We cook this recipe on the weekends and eat it throughout the week for dinners and lunches.

    This easy cabbage soup is quick to prepare and then the slow cooker does all of the work.

    In the Crock Pot, this cabbage soup takes about 8 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.

    If youd like to make this a little bit faster you can cook it on the stove top for about 25 minutes or until all of the vegetables are tender.

    To freeze it, I portion it into individual servings in freezer bags.

    To defrost, I place a bag in the fridge the night before and by lunch the next day its ready to warm up in just a couple of minutes.

    The best thing about this soup is that its delicious as a base to create meals all week long.

    While we enjoy it as a perfect vegetable soup but we also add in our favorites to create new soups for meals throughout the week.

    How To Make Weight Loss Soup

    Diet Cabbage Soup! Lose Ten Pounds In A Week! And Delicious!

    Here are the main ingredients you will need for Weight Loss Soup! Basically the entire produce section at the store.

    These veggies are mostly suggestions. You can replace ones you dont like, or omit them entirely and add a little extra of the other ones. No soup nazis around here! Yes soup for you!

    This recipe calls for 2 pounds of turkey, but you can use 1 pound or 1 and 1/2 pounds and it will still be really great. Drain the turkey fat and add in some garlic and spices. This brings in tons of flavor and is basically calorie free!

    Next add in a heck-ton of broth. I like to use either chicken broth or turkey broth, or a combination! This time I used 8 cups chicken broth that I had on hand, then another 4 cups of water with 4 teaspoons Better Than Bouillon Turkey Base. I LOVE this turkey base, it brings so much amazing flavor. You can use all chicken broth if thats what you have, or use water and either chicken/turkey base. 1 cup of water + 1 teaspoon base = 1 cup broth. OR, if you happen to have a turkey carcass, use this Homemade Turkey Stock.

    Next chop up all your veggies and add them in, adding the hardest vegetables first so they start cooking right away.

    You can add as much cabbage as you want, really. The original Weight Loss Soup was mostly cabbage and broth because cabbage is super low calorie. This time I added about 2 cups, but Ive definitely added the whole bag before. You can of course chop your own cabbage, Im just lazy. The coleslaw bags are so convenient!

    Next, I on was on the hunt for recipes that could help me out. I found this great weight loss soup recipe over at Family Favorite Recipes. They use this soup recipe is several ways. However, I was wanting to use it as part of my meals as a low calorie and vegetable packed meal.

    For my WW personal points, this soup is 2 points and I also earn a point for the day by having a serving of non starchy vegetables. I just make a batch of this in my slow cooker and provides me with 9-10 servings. I have been eating it for lunch because there is no way my husband or daughter would eat this for dinner. So far I have been able to loose 10 pounds on WW with this soup as part of my meal plan.

    The base of the soup is made with vegetable juice and broth. I used chicken broth, but you can use vegetable broth if you want it to be vegetarian. Next time, I do think I am going to try to make this with spicy vegetable juice. I love the flavor but would love it to be a little more intense. I think the spicy vegetable juice will do this.

    Now this healthy weight loss soup uses onion, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, green beans, and cabbage. There is also some kidney beans in there for protein. There is also some Italian diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning.

    Diet Soup In A Slow Cooker With Fish

    With salmon and seafood

    200 g seafood, 1 salmon steak, 4 nori sheets, 3 tablespoons brown rice, pre-boiled, 100 g asparagus, 1 white onion.

    Wash, peel and chop vegetables. You can break the nori with your hands, carefully remove the steak from the bones, after holding it for 1-2 minutes in the microwave at medium power. Rinse the cleaned shrimp. Put everything together in a multicooker bowl, pour water, cook for about 40 minutes in the quenching mode.

    500 g of pollock fillet, 2-3 tablespoons of millet groats, 200 g of stalk celery, 1 large onion, 200 g of asparagus or green beans, carrots, bay leaves and peppercorns.

    Rinse all the ingredients with water, peel the onion, cut into rings, cut the celery into cubes, fish into wide portions-strips. Place in a multicooker bowl together with uncooked millet, cook for 40 minutes in the stewing mode.

    1 trout steak, 2 young potatoes, 200 g green beans, 1 bell pepper, carrots, 1-2 tablespoons red lentils, dry, onion, possibly red.

    Place the steak in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and heat on a medium intensity range, so that you can separate the fish from the bones. Grind the trout, chop the vegetables as you like, put everything together in a multicooker bowl and cook for 30 minutes in the stewing mode. If necessary, “cook” in the heating mode for 10 minutes.
