Instant Pot Chicken Bone Broth :
1. Place roasting bones and accumulated pan juices into a 6Qt instant pot.
2. Add onion, celery, carrots, garlic, bay leaf, 1 Tbsp cider vinegar, and 1 tsp salt.
3. Add 10-11 cups water or until you reach the 2/3 max fill line in the pot.
4. Select soup/broth and set the time to 2 hours . It will warm up then cook on high pressure for 2 hours . When cooking is complete, wait 30 minutes for it to naturally depressurize then release pressure .
Chicken And / Or Beef Bone Broth
Were fond of Louise Hays bone broth method because it feels the most conscious and intentional.
When I make a batch of homemade bone broth, I store some of it in mason jars in the fridge to use over the next few weeks and freeze the rest in these large square silicon freezer trays. Then I add a cube to just about everything we make cauliflower rice, pasta, vegetables, and anything in the Instant Pot because the homemade broth cube adds just the right amount of liquid and tons of nutrients.
The Best Bones For Bone Broth
The best bone broth uses a mix of different bones: large, nutrient-rich beef or pork bones, as well as some smaller meaty cuts so your broth has some flavor. I like to use a mix of big beef bones , meaty short ribs or oxtails, and knuckle or neck bones. Those knuckle and neck bones have a lot of collagen, which give the broth body and rich flavor.
You can also mix in bones and meaty cuts from other animals. Throw in a ham bone or shank, leftover turkey bones, some chicken feet use whatever mix of bones you find or that sounds appealing to you.

Where To Buy Beef Bones For Making Broth
Most grocery stores will sell soup bones in the meat department. If you don’t see any, ask the butcher. They will likely have some in the back.
Another option is to save the bones whenever you make a bone-in roast, ribs, or steak. Store the bones in the freezer until you have enough to make broth. If you use bones that you’ve already cooked, you can skip the pre-boiling and roasting steps in this recipe.
Diluting Your Stomach Acid
Proteins and fats are much more dense and harder to break down than less dense foods like lettuce, rice, potatoes, fruit. veggies etc.
So, mixing dense food with less dense foods will dilute the gut of acid because of the fiber and carbohydrates, and this is the beginning of bad digestion and intestinal problems.
I have found that most people have an insufficient amount of HCL production in their stomachs, probably for this very reason.
I never mix fruit or sugars with my protein and fat meals. This is so I can get complete digestion without changing the low acidity of my stomach.
Proteins and fats need a pH of 1.5-2 to breakdown the food efficiently getting the food ready for microbial digestion in the intestines.
Mixing carbohydrates, like potatoes, lettuce or greens, rice, liquids consumed while eating or after dinner all of these will dilute the stomach acid to become much weaker, thus will not break down the dense protein and fats in the animal products efficiently.
I do not consume liquids with my meal, or 90 minutes after my meal either to keep the acid strong.

Can You Freeze Bone Broth
I have a basement freezer that is stocked full of bone broth! Its my favorite way to store it. I prefer to avoid plastic when it comes to my food, so I use wide mouth pint-and-a-half Mason glass jars to freeze my broth. These are the largest Mason jars that are freezer-friendly, and the three-cup measure works really well for all my cooking and sipping needs.
Unfortunately, the pint-and-a-halfs can be hard to track down sometimes, so wide mouth pints are a good alternative. Just fill to the freezer line on the jar, put on a cap, label, and stash it in the freezer until needed. I just pull it out and defrost it overnight in the fridge.
If you dont have room in your freezer , there are a few shelf-stable bone broth brands you can buy at your local grocery store. I personally like the quality and taste of Kettle & Fire Bone Broth, but there are multiple other brands you can test out to find our favorite.

Combine broth ingredients: Place the roasted bones, chopped vegetables, bay leaf, and cider vinegar in a large stock pot or crock pot. Cover with water so that the ingredients are under at least 2 inches of liquid. At this point, you can also add in any other flavoring ingredients that you want in the broth.
To Cook the broth on cooktop: Heat the broth over high heat until it comes to a rapid simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the broth and let it simmer on low for 12 to 24 hours. Skim off the foam on top periodically. You may have to add water occasionally to make sure the ingredients stay covered.
To Cook Broth in Crock Pot: Cover and heat on low for 12-48 hours. I usually do 24 hours

Once youve made the generic bone broth recipe from above, you can doctor it up to taste many different ways. Here are some suggestions we love:
1. Brighten it up.
Use some fresh squeezed lemon, sea salt and fresh black pepper to brighten up the rich flavor of the broth.
2. Make it rich and creamy.
Add a teaspoon or so of either organic, grass-fed ghee, grass-fed butter or coconut oil to add some healthy fat and make the broth a bit more filling.
3. Add some Asian flavors.
Freshly grated ginger, lime, sriracha and some finely chopped green onion add lots of flavor.
4. Make it decadent.
Add 1/4 cup coconut milk, juice of 1/2 lime and fresh cilantro for a creamy, Thai version.
5. Make an egg drop soup.
Bring broth to a strong simmer. Crack 1 egg into a small bowl and beat. Next, whisk the simmering broth clockwise until a whirlpool effect occurs.
