Knorr Spinach Dip can safely be stored in the refrigerator up to 4 days. Just place the dip in an airtight container or cover the container in plastic wrap. Note, if you served your dip in a bread bowl, the bread will be soggy and stale after a day. Therefore, remove the dip from the bread bowl before storing in the refrigerator.

Can I tell you that I actually ate this dip twice for dinner and maybe for lunch, too, along with a snack or two before bed? Ive just been too tired from gardening to cook, but this makes a lot! I even tried to pawn some of my son, Kraig, whos been helping me with the yard work, again and still!. Maybe I shouldnt have told him the name, just brought it out and let him try! The gardens are still works in progress with multiple areas started and others still pretty desperate! These photos are showing that but theres a lot more work to do before we even start cleaning up!
Weve had a series of hard rains that stripped the blossoms right off my William Baffin Rose, which still hasnt gotten tied to the trellis, but I bought nylons at the dollar store, so it will be, soon. Two of my fave roses, both cut to the ground this year because of the rabbit problems are starting to bloom. The new stems on one rose are so delicate they wont support the flowers and I can see it needs a spray. A third rose has only put up one stem, but I have hopes hell make it now.

I have been using Calorie Counter and I love how at the end of the day it analyzes your meals and tells you where you are good or too high or too low. It also shows you what foods were good or bad in what areas. Invariably I come out too high in sodium, and the culprit is always a prepared/packaged food. Today it was spinach dip. I make it low fat with tofu, but it is too high in sodium. Thats because of the dry vegetable soup mix. I also do not like those mixes because they invariably include some type of MSG or MSG-type ingredient which I am allergic to.
Does anyone have a T& T recipe for spinach dip that is all homeade, that does not rely on the dry packaged vegetable soup mix??
I suppose it would be fun to experiment, but I dunno, Id rather swap recipes, lol! Im all about the eating, not the prep.

But back to the dip~this dip is super simple to make, and is even on the packet of Knorrs. Im adding it to my site just because I want to keep track of it and the fine print is hard to read!! Its especially easy if you start with frozen spinach. You can cook it or just thaw it and use it raw. Whichever you do, its best to do it ahead because its no fun to wring out hot spinach and impossible to thoroughly wring it if it hasnt thawed. And you do want to wring it, thoroughly, preferably in an old towel. Just keep twisting the ends and twist and twist till you literally cant twist any more! Then let it sit for a minute or two and twist it again.
The real key to success is to cut the spinach very well and in small bits. Its like chopping cotton but keep at it. No one wants big strings of spinach in their dip and no one wants a string of spinach in their teeth!! If youre thinking about leaving the water chestnuts out, Id urge you to keep them. They might seem unnecessary but they do give just a bit of slight crunchiness thats so good.

Squeezing The Water From Your Frozen Spinach
You are going to need to defrost your frozen spinach first. You can quickly do this in the microwave or let it sit in the fridge overnight in a bowl. Then you will need to SQUEEZE all of your water out before you add it to your dip! I like to use a thin towel, cheese cloth OR paper towels to do this. If you dont squeeze the water out, your dip will be watery!

How Long Will Spinach Dip Last
This dip will last for about a week in the refrigerator, but it goes watery fast thanks to those water chestnuts and spinach, so try to eat it within a day or two. I also wouldn’t recommend freezing it as Im not a big fan of freezing recipes that are heavy in dairy as they tend to go runny and watery once theyve thawed. It would still be safe to eat but Im not sure youd want to eat it! If youre not certain that youll use up a whole batch, just make a half batch to be on the safe side.

Every time I serve it, my guests almost inhale it they eat it so fast. It’s delicious. With just 6 ingredients, you can make this recipe in a flash. Everyone loves it and it looks beautiful and elegant on a buffet table. So when we get back to social gatherings, remember this dip!
I have been making this easy-to-make spinach dip since the early 1980s. The original Knorr’s Spinach Dip recipe comes from the back of the Knorr’s Vegetable Soup package .
This dip is one of those dips you should learn how to make and add to your recipe repertoire. Serve it in a bread bowl with the inside of the bread ripped into small pieces and laid around the bread bowl. People will think you worked so hard to make it they will be impressed. Or serve it in small cups with pretzels or gluten-free crackers.

Super Natural Simple: Whole
She calls the mix French Onion Salt and deploys it first in a dead-simple breakfast strata recipe. Then she suggests sprinkling the mix over milk-washed biscuits before baking, or using it to top off a roasted sweet potato. I recently added about 1 tablespoon of the mix to the dough for savory hand pies that I then took along on a camping trip. Delicious.
Swansons recipe isnt an exact dupe for Lipton, but Â½ cup of her French Onion Salt can be used as a substitute for a 1-ounce packet of dehydrated French onion soup mix. I made batches of dip with each to compare, purely for editorial reasons. Sour cream dip made with Liptons mix had richer, darker flavor. The one made with Swansons mix was brighter, and somehow more elegant. If Liptons dip was a robust winter onion, Swansons was a lithe spring onion. I could eat a whole batch of either in a single sitting. If you want to make a version with Swansons homemade mix thats closer to the Lipton standard, add a few dashes of Worcestershire or soy sauce when stirring everything together .
Or, if you want to go your own way, Swanson also suggests swapping out the dried chives for any other dried herb you love. Go thyme for an even more French feel or dried mint for something a little more zingy. Dill? Cilantro? Besobela? Really, whatever you like.
